Tiger Woods already has the best shot in the very short history of the TGL.

Tiger Woods did not play Tuesday night when he and Rory McIlroy very nice simulator golf leagueDATE, finally escaped to mixed reviews.
Of course, the 15-time major champion was on hand to see his and McIlroy’s vision come to life at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. Woods watched as Bay Golf Club swept New York Golf Club 9-2, and he even gave a soft-spoken, CEO-style interview in the broadcast booth mid-game. (Never change professional golf.)
But while Woods didn’t show it on Tuesday night – his debut comes next Tuesday – he has surprisingly already hit the best shot in TGL’s short history.
A video posted by TGL’s X account showed Woods detailing to McIlroy and TGL CEO and co-founder Mike McCarley how he hit the tiny camera on the simulator’s giant screen on the first try.
Golf fans will now talk about the TGL camera shot in the same breath as Woods’ birdie putt at the 2005 Masters and his putt to send the 2008 US Open into a playoff. Guys, seeing the Cat in action is always interesting, no matter the setting.
As for TGL, its debut included a rule change that fans loved, some corporate activations, an unnecessary interview with DJ Khaled and some poor golf from the Golf Club of New York (Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick and Xander Schauffele ).
The best thing that happened for TGL on the first night was the pace of play, the players getting invested in every shot and getting to show more of their personalities, and that – for better or worse – made golf fans feel something that it is very rare. outside of four majors and the Ryder Cup.
Time will tell if TGL can keep people interested or if interest fades as Woods and McIlory both make their debuts in the coming weeks.
