Insiders have named 4 teams interested in signing Pete Alonso

The Major League Baseball offseason is filled with excitement as many high-profile free agents sign with new teams.

Some of the free agents who have signed so far are Juan Soto with the New York Mets, Max Fried with the New York Yankees and Blake Snell with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

There are still some big name players who have yet to sign, and one player to watch is Pete Alonso of the Mets.

MLB insider Jon Heyman identified four teams interested in Alonso this offseason.

“The Giants, the Mariners and the Jays along with the Mets,” Heyman said via the “X” MLB Network.

While the Mets have been the favorite to sign Alonso, Heyman said the San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays are also interested.

Alonso entered the league in 2019 with the Mets and has played all six seasons of his MLB career with the team.

The popular power hitter has shown his skills by winning multiple home run derbies as well as having three seasons with 40 or more home runs.

Alonso played in all 162 games with the Mets in 2024, where he batted .240 with 34 home runs, 88 RBI and a .788 OPS.

Heyman notes that things can change quickly in MLB, so it shouldn’t be a huge surprise if another team is involved in talks with Alonso.

While Alonso’s home run total dipped slightly in 2024, it was impressive to see Alonso play in all 162 games for the first time in his career.
