Pramac Racing is one of the strongest satellite outfits on the MotoGP grid and has even become the first independent team to win the premier class teams’ championship.
The Italian crew has been part of the premier class since its rebranding. MotoGP In the year 2002 and regularly put Pramak’s name on display. In the year Racing Jorge Martin in 2024 saw Pramac help the Spaniard become the first independent riders’ champion in the MotoGP era.

Pramac Racing MotoGP team name
Pramac Racing adopted their current team name ahead of the 2009 MotoGP season to simply refer to the Pramac company that originally founded the operation. During its first seven seasons on the grid, the team adopted different names due to partnerships.
Their first two seasons in the premier class saw them build bikes under Pramac. Honda Name. Pramac partnered with Ponce Racing in 2003 to build bikes, which became Camel Honda in 2004, before parting ways with d’Antin from 2005.
The adoption of the Pramac de Antine name marked the beginning of a long relationship between Pramac and Ducati since 2004 when it divested Honda bikes. D’Antin has been around since 1999, but fell into financial trouble during the 2003 MotoGP season.
Another new name appeared on the entry list in 2008, with Pramac d’Antin becoming Alice’s team in a sponsorship deal with Telecom Italia DSL service. But that deal only lasted a year and when Louis d’Antin left in 2008, the team became Pramac in 2009.
Since then, the Pramac company name has been a central feature of the MotoGP apparel label, alongside various title sponsorship deals – with Italian insurance company Prima joining from May 2022 and Groupe Renault’s sports brand Alpine from 2025.

Pramac Racing debuted in MotoGP in the 2002 season, taking over from Hardwick Racing. Hardwick Racing was in financial trouble following the end of its sponsorship deal with Shell, so Pramac took over the 500cc operation to compete in MotoGP.
