Premier League giants Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are following the uncertainty surrounding Dani Olmo, whose Barcelona record expires at the end of this month.
Having only been registered as an emergency measure following Andreas Christensen’s injury, Olmo’s temporary registration will expire on December 31 and Barcelona are currently in no position to renew it.
Barcelona took the League to court in an attempt to extend Olmo’s record, but they were unsuccessful, with a judge ruling that the league’s financial regulations were fair and should be followed.
“The purpose of authorizing the overspend is so that a long-term injury does not hurt the team’s competitiveness, not because the long-term injury allows the enrollment of players who exceed the salary cap, which he tried to do do Barcelona”. the court ruled.
Complicating the situation are suggestions with which Olmo’s contract Barcelona includes a clause that allows him to leave on a free transfer if the La Liga side does not sign him into their squad.
according to The Timesinterest in the future of Olmo is growing, with arsenal, city i united all watching the proceedings.
Those in charge of Barcelona have long been underlining the commitment to re-register Olmo i MARC states that the Spanish international remains fully confident that his future will be resolved with little fuss.
Privately, Barcelona has pledged to do whatever is necessary to keep Olmo. They will first appeal the court ruling on Monday, but are exploring ways to raise money through new sponsorship deals or director investments, which would give them enough financial freedom to register Olmo.
As it stands, however, Olmo will not be able to represent Barcelona when they return to play in the Copa del Rey against Barbastro on January 4.
