Kuldeep Yadav started bowling in the nets after surgery. The left-arm wrist spinner approached slowly but picked up rhythm as he bowled more. He posted a story on his Instagram account where he was seen bowling in the nets. Most likely, he is currently in Kanpur along with his childhood coach Kapil Pandey.
Kuldeep suffered a groin injury during India’s home Test series He faced New Zealand and was ruled out of the final two Tests of the series. He underwent surgery in Germany and is believed to be on the mend.
After the surgery, he underwent rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Center of Excellence in Bengaluru, where he focused more on leg exercises to improve his strength. NCA officials have gone all out to prepare him for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
Although he is yet to get a clean sheet from the National Cricket Academy, Kuldeep started bowling in the nets to get into his bowling rhythm. He will try to build up more strength and bowl full tilt in the coming days.
Kapil Panday talks about Kuldeep Yadav’s comeback
A few days ago, Kuldeep Yadav’s childhood coach Kapil Panday revealed the status of his injury and claimed that he could start bowling soon. Panday mentioned that Kuldeep will visit his hometown Kanpur and practice bowling. Both will make future plans accordingly.
“This month he should be bowling. I am quite sure. He will be here (in Kanpur) till next week and then we will make further plans. It might be a bit early to predict Kuldeep’s comeback as he will continue bowling first and then have to play a practice game or two while going through other tests and processes,” said Kapil Panday.
Kuldeep Yadav last played an ODI during India’s away series in Sri Lanka, where he took 4 wickets in three matches at an average of 25.50 and an economy rate of 3.40. The left-arm wrist spinner is India’s first-choice spinner in ODI cricket, making him essential for the Champions Trophy.

Kuldeep also played in the ODI World Cup 2023 and was India’s best spinner in the tournament. He took 15 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 28.26 and was instrumental in India’s run to the final.
The 30-year-old has played 106 ODIs so far and has taken 172 wickets at an average of 26. With the Champions Trophy 2025 less than two months away, Kuldeep is all set to make a comeback in the previous ODI series against England.
