The Braves signed a new outfielder on Sunday

The Atlanta Braves had their 7th straight season in 2024, finishing with an 89-73 record.

Even after battling multiple injuries to key players throughout the season, the Braves still managed to clinch a spot in October.

Although the season ended when the team was eliminated in the wild-card round, the Braves could consider the season a success because of all the key injuries.

Last season, the Braves parted ways with starter Max Fried, who signed with the New York Yankees, but the Braves added a new player to the roster on Sunday.

The Braves have signed infielder Brian De La Cruz to a one-year, non-guaranteed contract through the 2025 season, according to Atlanta Braves’ X .

De La Cruz joined the league in 2021 with the Miami Marlins, where he played over three seasons before joining the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2024.

In 2024, De La Cruz played 149 games between the Marlins and Pirates, batting .233 with 21 home runs, 68 RBIs and a .654 OPS.

The Braves had their streak of six consecutive National League East titles snapped in 2024 when they finished second to the Philadelphia Phillies.

After winning the World Series in 2021, the Braves missed the National League Championship Series in their next three playoff appearances.

The Braves are hoping De La Cruz can make an impact in their outfield next season as he has shown the ability to hit the long ball so far in his career.
