Stats show how Devin Williams has dominated since 2019

The New York Yankees not only lost the World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers, they also lost one of their best players this season.

Superstar outfielder Juan Soto was a top free agent before signing a 15-year, $765 million contract with the New York Mets.

While the Yankees were unable to bring Soto back, they did not hesitate to make other moves after his decision to play elsewhere.

The Yankees recently acquired relief pitcher Devin Williams in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers, and the stats show just how dominant he has been in his short career.

Since his debut in 2019, here are Devin Williams’ grades among relievers with at least 200 innings. ERA: 2nd (1.83); K/9: 4th (14.3); HR/9: 6th (0.6); H/9: 1st (4.9),” ESPN’s Jeff Passan wrote in X .

The Yankees struggled last season when Klay Holmes started to struggle and was replaced by Luke Weaver.Williams could take over that role in 2025.

Williams appeared in 22 games with the Brewers last season and had a 1.25 ERA with 14 saves and 38 strikeouts in 21.2 innings.

The Yankees are getting one of the best relievers in baseball to hopefully close out games.

After losing Soto, it will be interesting to see how aggressive the Yankees are the rest of the offseason.

They will try to win the AL East titles for the first time since the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
