Chelsea beat Liverpool to the signing of Moises Caicedo last summer and history may repeat itself in 2025 as the two Premier League giants have shown interest in another Brighton talent.

The Reds have agreed a £111million deal with Brighton to sign the midfielder in the summer of 2023, but after giving the London club priority, the Ecuador international would opt to move to Stamford Bridge as part of a British record deal of £115 million.

Both Premier League clubs are now interested in Seagull’s Joao Pedro and a fee of around £100m would be required to sign the striker in 2025 as Brighton have no plans to part with the 23-year-old currently, according to reports. Football TBR.

The report claims Liverpool have been keeping a close eye on the Brazilian star, who is held in high esteem by Reds sporting director Richard Hughes.

The Merseyside club will be challenged for Pedro by Chelsea as Enzo Maresca looks to add another striker to his squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

It is unclear whether the two English giants would be willing to pay £100m for the Brighton talent, which could leave a path open for Arsenal as It is believed that the gunners were targeted as a possible destination for Pedro this week

according to UOLLiverpool will prioritize signing Pedro next summer from Brighton and could even open negotiations with the Seagulls as early as January as they look to make the jump to the competition.

The 23-year-old has been at the AMEX Stadium since last summer after completing a £30 million move from watford The Brazilian has been a key player for Brighton since making 49 appearances for the Premier League side, scoring 26 goals and assisting a further six.

Right now, it’s hard to see where Pedro would fit in at Anfield, as Arne Slot’s forward line is packed with talent and is one of the strongest in the English top flight and perhaps in Europe.

Mohamed Salah’s future remains uncertain to the Merseyside club and the Egyptian’s departure may be the only way to bring the Brazilian talent to Anfield, which is good news for Chelsea.
