Major League Baseball’s offseason is in full swing as the loaded free agent class begins to shrink as some big name players sign contracts with new teams.
New York Yankees superstar shortstop Juan Soto was the top prospect in this year’s free agent class, and he signed a 15-year, $765 million contract with the New York Mets.
The debate over whether Soto would return to the Yankees or move on was long debated as Soto contemplated his decision.
Now that Soto is officially part of the “Big” organization, he addressed the media regarding his decision.
MLB fans took to social media to express their reaction to Soto in a Mets uniform.

MLB fans took to social media to voice their opinions on Soto signing with the Mets, and the reactions were mixed.
Some fans liked Soto’s new look in a Mets uniform, while others felt he was overpaid and would be a bad signing for the organization.
The Mets made the postseason in 2024 and made a run to the National League Championship Series before losing to the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
With the addition of Soto, the Mets hope they can overcome the core to win their third World Series title in franchise history and first since 1986.
If the rivalry between the two New York teams wasn’t strong enough, Soto’s streak will make the Subway Series even more interesting.
