6 teams showing interest in trading Garrett Crochet

Major League Baseball’s offseason finally got the splash everyone was waiting for, as top free agent Juan Soto signed with the New York Mets.

Now that Soto is off the table, it opens the door for other teams to explore alternatives either through free agency or a trade.

One player who has been involved in trade talks since last season is Garrett Crochet of the Chicago White Sox.

The White Sox were thought to move Crochet at the trade deadline, but the move never happened.

MLB insider Jon Heyman has identified six teams interested in trading Crochet.

“The teams that I’ve heard that have been linked to Crotchet are the Yankees, the Mets, the Red Sox, the Orioles, the Phillies and the Dodgers,” Heyman said.

The New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and Baltimore Orioles all reside in the American League East, while the Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, and Los Angeles Dodgers reside in the National League.

Crochet played on the worst team in baseball in 2024, but he still managed to put up some numbers.

With the White Sox in 2024, Crotchet started 32 games and posted a 6-12 record with a 3.58 ERA and 209 strikeouts in 146.0 innings.

Starting pitchers are always a top priority for teams, so it’s no surprise to see so many teams interested in the 25-year-old left-handed pitcher.

Along with Crochet are some solid free agent starting pitchers, including Corbin Burnes, Roki Sasaki and Max Fried.

Crochet will be a name to watch as the season progresses.
