The New York Yankees are making their first World Series appearance since 2009.
Although the Yankees suffered a heartbreaking World Series loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers, they need to keep their game up this offseason.
Yankees superstar Juan Soto is the top free agent in this year’s class, and the Yankees are doing everything they can to bring Soto back next year.
While Soto’s pitching has included plenty of speculation, MLB analyst Jim Duquette has a strong belief in where Soto will sign this offseason.
“It’s going to be very difficult for the Yankees to give up Juan Soto,” Duquette said via Sirius XM’s MLB Network Radio.
“The fact that the Yankees are supposed to be over $700 million, if that’s actually true, I think he’s going to be a Yankee.”@JimDuquetteGM responds #yankees reports offer for Juan Soto.#RepBX

Several MLB teams are interested in the Soto sweepstakes, including the Yankees, Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets.
There has been some discussion about whether Soto will simply take the deal that offers the most money, in which case Duquette believes Soto will sign with the Bigs.
Duquette believes Soto will end up signing with the Yankees if the team offers $700 million or more.
Soto’s contract is reportedly expected within the next week, so it will be interesting to see how much more drama there is over the next few days.
Soto cemented his status as a top free agent by having a stellar first season with the Yankees in 2024 that included a .288 batting average with 41 home runs, 109 RBI and a .989 OPS.
The Yankees hope Duquette’s prediction comes true and they can bring Soto back for the 2025 season.
