Arsenal could move away from previous transfer strategy by vying with Chelsea for Brazil star

Arsenal and Chelsea are reported to be interested in a potential transfer Palmeiras defends Vitor Reisaccording to Florian Plettenberg.

The talented 18-year-old looks like the latest exciting prospect to emerge from Palmeiras following the recent success of fellow players Endrick and Estevao Willian.

Arsenal have been linked with Reis in the past, although Charles Watts told us how the Gunners have tended to favor movement within the European market, unlike Chelsea.

The big club are now ‘confident’ of signing the Arsenal star!

The Blues have had some success raiding South America for the best young talent, but it’s not something Arsenal have pursued as much in recent times.

That could be about to change, though, as Reis appears to be firmly on his radar ahead of next summer, according to Plettenberg in the X post below…

Reis could end up being a smart investment for these clubs as he looks like a player with great potential to continue to improve in the coming years.

Given that Chelsea have made it very clear that they intend to give young players a chance and build a long-term project around them, Stamford Bridge could be the most tempting destination for Reis.

There is not the same guarantee that the Brazilian would get much playing time at Arsenal, where Mikel Arteta already has plenty of proven defensive options.

Arteta will also be under increasing pressure to deliver trophies as soon as possible after coming close in the last two years, while there may not yet be the same emphasis at Chelsea.

This could mean that Reis has more time to learn and develop in West London than he would if he moved to North London.
