Jamal Musiala will sign a new contract with Bayern Munich to end the uncertainty surrounding his future, a report has revealed.
Musiala is one of the best young players in world football and his contractual situation – his current contract only has 18 months left to run – has sparked interest in a financial transfer from most of Europe’s elite.
Real Madrid i Manchester City have dominated the headlines regarding a potential move for the 21-year-old, but both sides will be disappointed as the Germany international is now expected to have new terms in Munich.
Sky Sport Germany states that a global agreement has been reached between Bayern and Musiala and it remains only to decide the duration of the new agreement.
Musiala will sign a four-year deal worth €100m (£82.8m) or a five-year contract worth €125m (£103.5m). There is also expected to be a hefty sign-on bonus and agent fees which could add a further €20m (£16.6m) to the total package.
Bayern officials have made no secret of their desire to retain Musiala and there are even dreams of combining him with another of Germany’s star young talents, Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz.
