Excitement is already swirling around the Major League Baseball offseason as the free agent class is stacked with top talent.
With offensive players like Juan Soto, Alex Bregman and Pete Alonso, and starters including Corbin Burns, Blake Snell, Max Fried and Rocky Sasaki, teams have plenty of options.
While much of the focus has been on Soto and his decision, two teams have emerged as favorites to land Burns’ top free agent starter.
According to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi, the Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers are the leading candidates to sign Burns.

Burns entered the league in 2018 with the Milwaukee Brewers, where he played for six seasons before going to the Orioles in 2024.
In his first season with the Orioles, Burns posted 15 wins and nine losses with a 2.92 ERA and 181 strikeouts in 194.1 innings.
The Dodgers always seem willing to pursue big-name free agents, but the Orioles seem willing to try and keep Burns for longer than one season.
Burns was most likely brought to the Orioles to lead them to victory in their first postseason game as the team’s ace.
Although the Orioles lost their first postseason game to the Kansas City Royals, it wasn’t because of Burns’ play.
Burns went eight innings against the Royals, allowing just five hits, one earned run and one walk while striking out three for one.
It will be interesting to see if Burns signs with the defending World Series champion Dodgers or if he decides to go another route.
