In the World Championship of Technology, Austin Eckroat’s win It was part of a big week for Ping in tournaments around the world. OEM had winning drivers on the PGA, DP World, LPGA and Champions tours.
But on this week’s Fully Equipped GOLF show, co-hosts Kris McCormack and Wadeh Maroun looked deeper into Ecroat’s bag for his second PGA Tour title, in his split group Ping Blueprint S and Blueprint T cuffs.
S and T Project were released earlier this year and are the next generation of original project iron which McCormack recalled as a very visually intimidating piece of iron.
“Historically for the Gen 1 Blueprint, it was one of the smallest, most intimidating irons that was in the True Spec drawer. And I mean, you’ve got to be the elite of the elite, ball striker, to make this thing work consistently well for you,” McCormack said. “I had a great feeling, but man, it was intimidating to watch. Especially when you got up on that 3-, 4-, 5-iron.”
Then the evolved versions, a Project S AND Plan T of back muscles, began appearing in Tour bags and eventually hit retail in January, providing options for top ball hitters that weren’t possible with the original.
“The Blueprint S, the Blueprint T, the footprint changed a little bit, but it still has that thin topline, the nice face progression, a little offset, and the ability to combine them is really, really nice,” he added. McCormack.

Additionally, both Blueprint irons can be mixed with Ping’s popular i230 irons to increase the number of possible combinations and accommodate more players, including McCormack.
“If I had to go out now, millions of dollars on the line, what irons am I going to put in the bag? And I was talking about the i230s and the Blueprint S, the Blueprint T combination with the i230 as well,” he said. “So, I mean, you have the ability to put together a group that might be three irons, all the same lofts and very similar design in terms of that particular demographic. I hit all three. I’m definitely more of that I230 and Blueprint S guy at the bottom of the bag.”
