The MLB season officially ended when the Los Angeles Dodgers won Game 5 of the 2024 World Series against the New York Yankees.

With all the attention on the free agent class now, it’s also awards season, when players are selected for various honors, including MVP, Rookie of the Year and the Cy Young Award.

While most people will be wondering who is winning the top awards, MLB Network analyst Alex Avila recently revealed his own Good Guy Awards.

Avila selected Kyle Schwarber from the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League and Anthony Rizzo from the Yankees in the American League.

Both players are known for their play on the field, but Avila pointed to their accomplishments off the field in their communities as well.

The Phillies DH is the founder of Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes, which benefits first responders and the military.

The Yankees first baseman is the founder of the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation, which helps pediatric patients and their families.

Avila notes that both give a lot of money and time to their communities and that they are deserving of his Good Guy awards.

On the field, Schwarber had another great season for the Phillies, batting .248 with 38 home runs, 104 RBIs and an .851 OPS.

Rizzo hit .228 with eight home runs, 35 RBIs and a .637 OPS.
