The International Cricket Council (ICC) has found itself in the middle of a dispute between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The reason for this is the participation of the Indian team in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to be held in Pakistan.
The Indian National Cricket Team has decided not to travel to Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. This is because BCCI did not get permission from the Indian government and therefore they wrote to the ICC that they will not play matches in Pakistan.

However, a new report in PTI suggested something different. It is learned that the ICC has not taken any decision and there was no such discussion on Tuesday. There is no clarity on this yet and it remains to be seen how the future of the event will unfold.
Reports in PTI also claimed that the opening event of the Champions Trophy 2025 scheduled to be held in Lahore on November 11 has been postponed. As confirmed by an International Cricket Council insider, the incident has been withdrawn.
The ICC also received a letter from the PCB and sought a written confirmation from the BCCI regarding India’s inability to travel to Pakistan for the tournament. They also assured that there is no security concern in their country and they are ready to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Reports also suggested that the Pakistan Cricket Board was reluctant to host the tournament outside the country, even in the UAE. A source following the development confirmed that South Africa has not yet been discussed as the host of the 2025 Champions Trophy.
The schedule of the tournament has also not been confirmed, the ICC is still in discussions and dialogues with the host and participating countries. Previously, there were reports that the governing body will only announce the schedule of the games, and the venues will be announced later after negotiations.
