Arsenal FC pundit Charles Watts has commented on transfer links with Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman after his attractive performances in Serie A.
Lookman has come a long way during his time in Italy after having a bit of an official career with underwhelming spells at the likes of Everton, Fulham, Leicester City and RB Leipzig.
The Nigeria international is really enjoying his football now, however, after developing his game under tactical mastermind Gian Piero Gasperini, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him earn an even bigger move soon.
Watts is aware Arsenal are in the market for a new winger, so Lookman could make sense, although at the moment he doesn’t seem entirely convinced the links are that strong.

While there has been speculation that the 27-year-old is on the radar of Arsenal and other top-flight clubs, Watts believes he could be more agent-driven than anything genuine at the club.
Ademola Lookman Transfer: Is Arsenal Interest Really Genuine?
“Ademola Lookman had another excellent weekend for Atalanta in Italy, scoring twice in their impressive win against Napoli,” said Watts. Caught offside for his latest Daily Briefing column.
“He is one of countless wingers who have been linked with Arsenal in the past and of course they saw him up close when they faced Atalanta in the Champions League a little earlier in the season.
“The Lookman link I would never have confirmed. It always felt like an agent-driven story to me, especially since there was a lot of talk about interest from PSG and also new contract talks with Atalanta.
“We’ll have to see if anything materializes in the future, but he’s certainly not doing his chances of a move to a top-flight club any harm with his performances in Italy right now.
“We know Arsenal will be on the lookout for a winger in the summer, and Raheem Sterling is expected to return to Chelsea after his loan spell in north London.
“Lookman has shown he can make a big impact at the highest level, so we’ll see if a top-flight club comes along.”
