The Philadelphia Phillies finished the 2024 regular season with a record of 95 wins and 67 losses, which earned them the National League East division.

After winning the division and receiving a bye in the National League Division Series, the Phillies fell to the New York Mets in four games to be eliminated.

The Phillies will try to make it through 2025 and win their first World Series title since 2008.

Major League Baseball analyst Jeff Joyce believes that if the Phillies can sign free agent Juan Soto this offseason, that could be enough to get the job done.

“You could make an argument that moving Soto would put them higher for the Phillies than any other team,” Joyce said.

Joyce describes how the Phillies tend to chase a lot as a team out of the zone, and the addition of Soto could potentially help with this problem.

Soto had an incredible season for the Yankees in 2024 as he batted .288 with 41 home runs, 109 runs scored and a .989 on-base plus slugging percentage.

Soto’s lottery pick appears to be the main headline this offseason, and all eyes are expected to be on him and where he decides to play next year.

If the Phillies can make a move for Soto, he would join other superstars on their roster, including Bryce Harper, Trey Turner and Kyle Schwarber.

The Phillies have lost their last two games in the World Series, and the addition of Soto could be the thing that leads to their third title in franchise history.
