Charles Barkley is back. But he is the only one back. There will be no pros either.
Golf is also being played over two days.
These were among the quick things Thursday’s announcement of the 10th leg of the match, which will be played on Thursday, November 21 and Friday, November 22 at Breakers West Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. What else do you need to know?
Let’s ask and answer nine relevant questions.
1. So who’s playing?
As pointed out, Barkley is, for the second time since I joined Phil Mickelson to play Peyton Manning AND Steph Curry in 2020. This time in the NBA Hall of Fame are seven sports and entertainment celebrities – actor Bill Murrayperhaps best known among golf fans for his portrayal of keeper Carl Spackler in the movie “Caddyshack;” actor Mark Wahlberg, who has an enviable backyard golf setup; hockey hall of fame Wayne Gretzkywho is also the father-in-law of pro Dustin Johnson; Comedian Nate Bargatze, the star of this one the ultimate golf sketch on “Saturday Night Live”; swimmer Michael Phelps; baseball hall of famer Ken Griffey Jr.; and former basketball star Blake Griffin.
2. Wow, eight players. What is the format?
On Thursday, Nov. 21, the team of Murray and Gretzky will play the team of Barkley and Griffey, and the team of Wahlberg and Phelps will play the team of Bargatze and Griffin in scrimmage matches. The winning pairs will then play singles matches on Friday, November 22.
3. What are they playing for?
A million dollars.
4. Why are there no pros?
Maybe there are several reasons. Celebrity golf has always been a thing, and YouTube golf is definitely on the rise. Notably, the PGA Tour will play its final tournament of the year that week — the RSM Classic — though the biggest names will likely be out.
5. Wait, wasn’t another match announced?
HAD – but it will not be used marking the matchalthough it will be produced by the group that developed the game. This matchup – in fine print – will decide the stars of the PGA Tour Rory McIlroy AND Scottie Scheffler against LIV’s Golf Stars Brooks Koepka AND Bryson DeChambeauand will be played on Tuesday, December 17 at Shadow stream in Las Vegas.
6. Speaking of LIV Golf, will the league have any participation in this match?
Yes, through a course analyst. LIVs Bubba Watson will be part of the broadcast team, and with him will be an analyst Trevor Immelman and anchors Ernie Johnson and Kathryn Tappen.
7. Will this really be the 10th game of the match?

It depends on you! The humor will be light, and it’s televised golf, too.
But we understand that celebrity golf might not be your thing.
