Titleist’s GT driver line, which launched earlier this yearexpands to the success of the popular TSR family. With three distinct models to choose from (GT2, GT3 and GT4), players have options.
After doing some driver equipment and player testing at our Scottsdale True Spec Golf facility, here’s what we learned about the GT line:
GT2: Best for gamers looking for performance and forgiveness
The model that will fit most players is GT2. This driver is fast, forgiving and has a much more attractive shape – it looks much more neutral and unbiased – compared to the previous generation TSr2 model.

Titleist GT2 Personal Driver

GT2 — Speed and Forgiveness Across the Face For players who can’t always find the center of the face and need the consistency of a high-MOI driver without sacrificing speed. Speed and forgiveness across the face Delivering impressive distance from every point of impact, the GT2 extracts maximum performance through the forged design. Get the added stability and confidence of a high MOI driver without sacrificing speed. Hassle-free thermoform crown A re-imagined ultra-lightweight design born from a new Matrix Properties polymer. The tunable acoustic properties of this unique composite allow Titleist engineers to realize new material benefits while maintaining our distinctive sound and feel. All wrapped up in a clean look that inspires complete confidence. The Split Mass Construction GT2 offers a powerful balance of forgiveness and speed thanks to an advancement in internal weight. Mass is moved to the back of the clubhead to increase MOI for better stability, while also pushing the weight down and forward to optimize speed and spin. The result is a driver that frees you to drive with confidence.

While it still has a shallower face compared to the other two GT models, there is still plenty of surface to suggest this driver will pull a ball and appeal to intermediate and accomplished hitters alike.
In testing, we found the GT2 to be easy to launch and maintain ball speed and spin numbers across most of the hitting surface. He was also responsible for players who tend to miss towards the heel and down the face. The starting direction of the GT2 is quite neutral and is not subject to a certain flight landing range.
GT3: Best for players looking for speed and shot shaping
For those players looking to have extra control over their ball and shot form, The GT3 answers the call.
With a sleek and more traditional pear shape, the GT3 offers strong feedback through impact and delivers a satisfying sound too. With new proprietary Thermoform material in the crown, as well as a redesigned Split Mass weighting system, some headliners may have concerns about a change in acoustics. For me, however, the GT3 produces the familiar acoustics that Titleist fans have come to know and love.
Titleist GT3 Personal Driver
$649
GT3 – Speed Adjusted Distance and Control The GT3 offers Titleist’s boldest combination of power and customization. With a speed-tuned design that allows you to precisely match performance to your most frequent contact location, you can make your drives even bigger by taking full control of flight and shaping. For players with a relatively consistent impact location, the GT3 offers a precisely adjustable CG footprint to maximize distance and driving control. Hassle-free thermoforming crown A re-imagined ultra-lightweight design born from a new Matrix Proprietary polymer. The tunable acoustic properties of this unique composite allow Titleist engineers to realize new material benefits while maintaining our distinctive sound and feel. All wrapped up in a clean look that inspires complete confidence. Massive split construction An advance in internal weighting unlocks longer discs and improved steering control in the GT3. The adjustable CG track now sits closer to the face for more dynamic CG control, while additional discretionary mass is pushed to the back of the club to maintain optimal stability through impact. The Advanced Aerodynamics GT3 features a new raised tail contour that represents a dramatic change in driver aerodynamics. Previously impossible to execute due to design limitations, this advanced shaping results in a driver that swings faster while providing optimal CG control.

Launch and spin were noticeably lower compared to the GT2, with the launch heading leaning towards being more lopsided suitable for a right-handed player and a visual at address giving the appearance of a more “open” landing. to the target.
Advanced players struggling with a loss will appreciate the GT3 for its workability, but the club still retains an impressive amount of forgiveness and lends itself to a fade-bias profile.
GT4: Best for players looking for lower spin and workability
More accurate ball strikers will appreciate it Smaller and more compact GT4. This head will appeal to high-swinging, high-spinning players looking to eliminate the left side of the golf course.
At 430cc, the GT4 will appear to have a deeper face and produce the lowest launch and lowest revving of any model in the GT family.
During testing, I noticed a surprising improvement in forgiveness and ball speed consistency, despite the GT4’s smaller head size.
Custom GT4 title driver
$649
GT4 – Outstanding low-spin performance The GT4 is Titleist’s most aggressive spin-reducing driver ever. With an adjustable front and rear CG that can dramatically lower RPMs to optimal levels, this rig driver packs incredible power into a compact, player-favorite form factor for complete confidence on any machine. For players who lose distance due to spin speeds above 3,000 RPM, the GT4 offers Titleist’s most aggressive spin-reducing driver. Massive Split Construction An evolution in internal weighting enables even greater torque-killing performance in the GT4. By pushing the mass distribution further apart, the clubhead maintains rear-weighted stability while simultaneously driving the CG forward for our biggest spin reduction to date. Refined aerodynamic materials improvements to the build allow the GT4 to feature a more compact 430cc head with a player-preferred shape to help neutralize spin and generate incredibly consistent distance. Double Spin Control Settings Destroy the spin with the turn of a knob. The GT4 features two weight positions to customize the performance of your club. Place the weight forward for more aggressive spin reduction. Set it back for a balanced mix of speed, stability and more moderate spin reduction.

Compared to the previous generation TSr4, the GT4 was faster across the face and significantly more forgiving to mistakes. Despite the added forgiveness, ball speed was not sacrificed and the head continues to perform for players with above average club head speed who are looking for a more boring trajectory off the tee.
Whether you are a seasoned Titleist enthusiast or exploring Titleist drivers for the first time, the GT family offers something for all game improvement needs. I would recommend testing all three models and working with your local golf pro or professional fitter to determine which model works best for your individual game.
