Former Gymkhana president Nitin Gadekar was also against Ivan Rodrigues, saying that other members had personally witnessed Jemimah Rodrigues’ father carrying out one of these events. The incident saw Jemimah Rodrigues’ three-year honorary membership of the club revoked.

“In light of the recent and false reports in the press, we would like to point out a few facts. We have used the facilities at Khar Gymkhana to hold prayer meetings many times over a period of time. It has been a year since April 2023. However, this is the time when Khar Gymkhana has been in existence. carried out in accordance with the procedures and with the full knowledge of the office holders.
“The prayer meetings were open to all and were in no way a ‘conversion meeting’ as falsely stated in the media articles. When we were told to stop holding the prayer meetings, we respected the Gymkhana’s position and did so immediately. effect.”
