Aaron Canet (Fantic Racing) had an incredible start to the weekend at the Thailand PT Grand Prix, clocking a 1:35.192 to steal the top spot on Friday. Canet bagged a 0.218s advantage over Tony Arbolino (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team), who claimed an incredible afternoon – P2. The Italian fought back well in practice 1 after a problem at the entrance to the pitlane earlier in FP. Meanwhile, Marcos Ramirez (US fans only) took third after taking top honors in the morning session, finishing a strong day for #24 and 0.250s off Friday’s #44 benchmark.

It was an exciting start to the weekend as Ramirez finished the day fastest – setting a 1:35.897 with free practice providing more drama. Once Practice 1 began, Kanet became the early heart rate monitor, improving on the times set in free practice. Lap times then dropped in the final 10 minutes and Ramirez battled back to the top of the standings before Canet improved further and took control on the opening day.

Jake Dixon (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team) took fourth after an impressive final run of the day, setting up nearly 20 laps throughout the day. Dixon was in front of Alonso Lopez, who brought him fifth in Thailand on his Triumph-powered beta Tools SpeedUp machine. However, Ai Ogura (MT Helmets – MSI) would end the day in P6 after the championship leader suffered problems in the final two minutes the day after. Round of 16 winner Manuel Gonzalez (Gresini Moto2™) secured P8 at the end of Friday, while Fermin Aldeguer (Beta Tools Speedup) took seventh.

Albert Arenas completed a great day for the Gresini Moto2™ team, finishing in front of Jorge Navarro, rounding out the top 10, replacing the injured Joe Roberts in the #9 of the OnlyFans American Racing team. At the back, Izan Guevara (CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team) showed a strong pace during the day, putting him in front of Diogo Morera (Italtrans Racing Team). Meanwhile, Denise Onchu (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and home hero Somkyat Chantra (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia) finished last in the provisional top 14. Saturday morning – Friday ends at P15.
