The 2024 World Series is set to begin on Friday as the New York Yankees face the Los Angeles Dodgers in a best-of-seven series.
Games one and two will be played at Dodger Stadium, games three, four and five will be played at Yankee Stadium, and finally games six and seven will be back at Dodger Stadium.
Fans who have followed their teams through the postseason may wonder what it would cost them to see their team perform in one of these World Series games.
According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale “X,” the average World Series ticket costs $1,413.
The average World Series ticket cost is $1,413, according to TFL, which pulled average ticket prices for all 7 games;
Game 1 (Dodger Stadium): $1,133
Game 2 (Dodger Stadium): $1,258
Game 3 (Yankee Stadium): $1,547
Game 4 (Yankee Stadium): $1,497
Game 5…— Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) October 22, 2024
The highest average ticket prices per game are all at Yankee Stadium, with games three and five the most expensive.
A possible reason for the price discrepancy between the two stadiums is that Yankee Stadium has a capacity of 46,537 while Dodger Stadium has a capacity of 56,000.
It would make sense that having fewer seats would increase the price of tickets, but overall prices are over $1,100 per ticket.
There are no signs of any restrictions on who can buy tickets, as was the case with the San Diego Padres in the National League Division Series.
The locations of these teams across the country from each other may account for this, but home teams should expect the stadium to be packed with home fans.
Only four games are guaranteed in the series, so fans must decide if they’re willing to risk the series ending quickly before purchasing tickets for games five, six and seven.
