Matt Wallace said little. Only 16 words in all. But his thoughts were incomprehensible.
The moments after he had finished the game on Sunday in European Omega masters, he would have been asked about the Ryder Cup, then he broke down.
After 35 seconds, he replied.
“I will never give up the Ryder Cup, you know,” he said.
“I just won’t, so it’s like that.”

Why is he considered a snub: Detry won WM Phoenix Open. He also posted the other five ends of Top 25 Top this season in PGA Tour.
Why he remained out of the team: All the best 25 ends of Detry came before US Open, and he never played on a Ryder Cup team. It is also ranked 99th this season in PGA Tour in Strokes Won: Total, 111 in SG: Tee to Green, 123 in SG: approach green and 110 in SG: about green.
Marco Money
Ranking in the ranking of Europe’s latest team Ryder Cup: 14th
Why is he considered a snub: He has won twice this year at the World DP tournament, and he ended up the second at the Scottish Open Genesis. It is also ranked eighth this year on tour in the distance.
Why he remained out of the team: Independence victories were the first of his career at the DP World Tournament, and he has played in only four major championships.

Why he remained out of the team: Rai has not won this year, and he has never played in a Ryder Cup team. It is also ranked 120th this season in PGA Tour in the strokes won: setting.
Jordan Smith

Why is he considered a snub: Smith made the cut into the two degrees he played this year. He has also posted two racing endings this season on the DP World Tournament
Why he remained out of the team: Smith has not won since 2022. He has also never played on a Ryder Cup team.

Why is he considered a snub: Hall posted 15 Top 25 endings this season in PGA Tour, and he qualified for the Tour Championship. He has not lost a cut since the player championship. It is also ranked fifth this year in PGA Tour in strokes acquired: Total, and second in SG: setting.
Why he remained out of the team: I inexperienced – Hall never played in a team Ryder Cup. It is also ranked at 112 in SG: off the tee, and 101 in SG: approach the green.
Nicolai Hojgaard
Ranking in the ranking of Europe’s latest team Ryder Cup: I 18th
Why is he considered a snub: Hojgaard was a member of the team two years ago, and his brother, Rasmus, is on this year’s team. He was also tied up for the second two weeks ago at British British Masters Betfred, and the Hojgaard brothers were runners at The Zurich Classic, PGA Tour’s Lone Team Event.
Why he remained out of the team: He has not won since 2023. He is also ranked 146th this season in PGA Tour in Strokes Won: About Green.
Alex who
Ranking in the ranking of Europe’s latest team Ryder Cup: 26
Why is he considered a snub: Noran is the highest rank player in the official ranking of the world golf to leave the team, and he played on the 2018 team. He also won British Masters Betfred two weeks ago, and he played in the latest pair of this year’s PGA championship.
Why he remained out of the team: Noran lost shocks this year in PGA Tour on off the tee and approached the green. He has also never won at PGA Tour.
Sergio Garcia
