For golfers, few things are more exciting than buying a new golf bag. Why? Easy. You can never blame him for a bad shot, and you’ll never lose him in the woods (if you do, you’re in bigger trouble).
It’s your trusty sidekick for all your golfing adventures, and a good, loyal one will never let you down. Plus, there are a ton of options out there – so you can always find one that’s perfect for you and your needs.
Let’s quickly review some basics. There are basically three different styles you’re looking at here: tote bags, tote bags, and travel bags. A carrier bag is basically just that – a bag that you will carry, a bag that usually doesn’t include a carrier and is often lightweight and compact. It’s a minimalist approach. The pannier is your most common option, something with a little more cargo space and often used by walkers and stroller riders. Then finally, there’s the tour bag, which is meant to be exclusively for those who ride carts (unless you’re a pro and have a caddy doing the heavy lifting for you).
Beyond that, there are many other key factors to consider: model, color, weight, size, storage, price, and all those other fun bells and whistles you might not think of: a cooler pocket for drinks , a place for remotes, a secure bag for valuables and even a USB charger.
And here at GOLF.com, we play a lot of golf, so I’d consider this group experts. What golf bags do our employees like? We asked them.
