As the golf season begins, you are definitely thinking about new equipment. You’ve probably bought some already. While putting a new driver in the game is always fun, do not bypass the golf ball. As with any season, 2025 brings with you an abundance of new options, but can I suggest that there can be a not -so -new model you have overlooked?
Maybe it’s time to see again.
Before we begin, a brief denial. You will not find things like Titerist Pro v1, pro v1x or even the new triple diamond of the Callaway Chrome Tour Tour on this list. These are the great guys and I am working on the assumption that you are fully aware of those offers and they are probably already on your list of things to try.
There is nothing wrong with climbing the classics (there is a reason why they are so popular), but today I will dig a little deeper to find slightly out of the main course for performance -led players. I will not pretend we have data on everything, but these are either on my list or would be if I would look for something a little different from what I usually play.
With that, they may be worth asking for you as well.
Mizuno Pro x

2023 RB Tour x was my absolute favorite gem hidden from our 2023 golf ball test. I liked so much that it became my temporary/second TEE ball which means I play more than I would like to accept.
It was strong through the bag, but I loved the driver’s trajectory, in particular. Thus the reason why I am so excited about 2025 Mizuno Pro modelAnd I am really looking forward to what we find in our Test of Top 2025.
Volvik Condor

I know what you are thinking. Isn’t Volvik the company that makes them Matte Red Spider-Man Balls? Yes. This is usually not my thing (though I have no real problem with Spider-Man) but the latest Volvik premium offer, Condor (I’m leaning toward the four -piece Condor X), it intrigued me.
This is not the same OL ‘Volvik. Condor is a “Tour-SPEC” ball (multi-layer urethane) that the Golf Ball Nerds would be intrigued to know is first produced, the high quality factory that produces the next three balls in this list.
Maxfli tournament

Falling just below the “very clear line to include,” Maxfli Tour golf ball lining It is increasingly popular with readers because of the balance it offers … and I do not mean central items of gravity. It is the compelling mix of the price, performance and quality that players love.
The latter two are at least part of the reason Maxfli is that rare DTC brand (or I think the house) in the PGA Tour game. If the stock tour is not your thing, consider the lower flight tour, with higher rotation or the smoother tour, with higher flight S.
Wilson triad

Triada Is Wilson’s softer offer. For my money, the original was one of the strongest performers in the “non-Turne” urethranian class and I expect the newest model to be so good.
Significantly softer than Wilson’s also excellent staff line, Triad is not a gentle duet, but for players looking for the milder feeling without the absurdly low rotation that often brings, the TRADA is a good offering that I usually recommend above.
Vice pro air

Pro air Replaces Pro soft in the updated Vice formation. While pro and pro plus remain familiar with players (and we expect the pro -new plus to be as long as everything in its class), the air offers something different to those looking for a milder feeling without sacrificing many performances elsewhere in the bag.
Like the triad, it is a little by a sub-randar offer that exceeds the offers of large brands similarly.
Bridgetone Tour bx

I thought I was not wearing popular balls on the list? (Some of you can say.) The real kinda but I have come to believe Bridgetone Tour bx It is the most underestimated ball in Golf.
Modeling the most played model of Bridgetone in the tournament, but it is inexplicably the fifth most sold model in the bridgestone lineup.
From the performance point of view, it is more or less like a Tweener Pro V1/Pro v1x. Also, if you pay attention to the smallest points of the ping ballamik mounting system, the bridgestone covers are extraordinary in managing moisture and preventing flights.
Ultimately
Whether you are looking for more distance, better control of Greenside or an optimal flight trajectory, there is a ball there that fits your game. And while home names will always have their place, these six alternatives deserve your consideration.
After all, that perfect ball can be the difference between a good round and a great one.
