Midwest Birdie Fest has reached the Tour 2025 PGA calendar.
After blocking the three signature events and the two main championships in the last seven weeks, players can breathe lightly for a few weeks here before leaving the pond and preparing for the open championship and stretching the season. Next week, is John Deere Classic in Silvis, Illinois, but our first stop is on the Motor City in Detroit Golf Club for what will be the seventh edition of Rocket Classic.
With DIP on schedule, many of the best stars of the game are taking some time rest, but Collin Morikawa is here, along with Patrick Cantlay, Last week’s champion, KEEGAN BRADLEYAnd champion defender Cam Davis, who is a twice winner here in Detroit.
Detroit Golf Club It is a classic, style of Parkland, which was created by the legendary Donald Ross Over 100 years ago. It is relatively short according to tour standards as a par 72 that measures below 7,400 yards. Straight roads are lined with trees, but not especially narrow and bordered by approximate that are not brutally criminal. In the classic ross style, the greens display rare leaked areas, some shifts, slopes from the back to the front, and are a mixture of bentgrass/poa Annua.
Great Hitters have won here in the past – Bryson dechambeauTony Finau, and as noted, Davis has done this twice. Without much penalty for the loss of straight roads, the bombs can bomb. From here, Wedge play and the setting generally constitute the recipe for success. I looked at the shocks: outside the tee, the distance of the car, the good drives won, the strokes: the approach, the proximity of the holes from 75-150 yards and the strokes: setting (Bent/Poa).
2025 Rocket Classic Ods: Morikawa, Cantlay favored in Detroit
Next week, TPC Deere Run, is similar to Detroit Golf Club, I believe. TPC Gemini Cities, host 3m Open, which we will see immediately after traveling abroad, is also a course related to my opinion. I also looked at TPC Craig Ranch (Byron Nelson), Silverado in Napa (ProCore Championship), Royal Liverpool (Holy Championship 2023), and Hamilton Golf & Country Club (Host I 2019 and 2024 RBC Canadian Open).
Four of our five elections last week have captured a finish position for us, but now two months have passed since we hit a full winner. Let’s see if we can change it this week.
Cameron Young (27-1)
I have been ready to return young while many have recently been, but this may be the right place-with an irrigated field, his return in shape and a golf course that really fits his game. He has finished the sixth here in the past and of course, the competitor, which he has done seven times in his “Oh so close” career. We mentioned the heavy run on the tours of the last seven weeks. Young made every cut during this stretch and finished 10 top 10 three times, in the Championship of Truist, RBC Canadian Open, and in the US Open three weeks ago. Young has been as high as the sixth in John Deere Classic and ended up in Royal Liverpool in 2023. He is fifth in this field for birds or better won over the last 24 rounds.
Davis Thompson (40-1)
Thompson made our card last week and he ended up a 25 respectable. He also ranked third in the field last week for SG access :. He hits him very long, has finished racing here in Detroit, Top 10 in Napa, and will be the defender champion next week in John Deere. Thompson became red hot this time last season after finishing ninth at US Open in Pinehurst-Another design of Donald Ross. He may be ready to arrive again.

Stephan Jaeger (70-1)
Another big hit that has succeeded in this tournament in the past, ending the ninth and fifth. It makes a bunch of birds and its placement has improved extremely a lot in recent years, now ranking 29th in this field for SG: Setting (Bent/Poa) during the last 24 rounds. Jaeger has lost only one cut in over three months and that was very forgiving, as he was in Oakmont. Last week in travelers, he was 15th in the field for SG: Access and 22 to SG: Setting.
Emiliano Grillo (80-1)
When collecting statistics this week, Grillo comes out to no. 1 on my board. During the last 24 rounds, he ranks 17th in this field for SG: off the tee. He is no. 1 for SG: Access and is extraordinary near holes from anywhere between 75-150 yards. He has won in Silverado, ended up the competitor in both John Deere Classic and 3m Open, and he was the sixth in Royal Liverpool in 2023. Grillo ended the top-25 in each of his last four beginnings and this includes the 19th Making at US Open.
Chris Kirk (80-1)
Speaking of US Open, Kirk ended up at 12th in Oakmont three weeks ago. This received my attention, plus the fact that he is an extraordinary wedge player from 75-150 yards. He has three Top-20 conclusions here in Detroit and has completed Top-30 in John Deere five times in seven appearances.
Victor Perez (87-1)
Like Grillo and Kirk, Perez also had a great show in the US Open. It ended the 19th and ranked ninth in that field for SG: Access. Week ago, he ended up Ninth in Canadian Open, where he also received the third year at Hamilton Golf & Country Club. During the last 24 rounds, he ranks ninth in this field for SG: Access and sixth for the good drives obtained. He is 35th for SG: Setting (Bent/Poa)
