5 Tips for possessing difficult lies

As we look at Ryder cupYou’ve probably seen players face some difficult conditions – including a long tight -way golf course and some truth Approximate style in New York.

While your approximate home course may not be as extreme as what they have in Bethpage BlackYou still need to know how to treat yourself when you are in the harsh. Here’s how you can find success when you find yourself in approximate gnarly.

1 Appreciate the lie

Not all stand in the rough are the same. You may be in the long grass, but still have a clean look at the ball – some players even prefer this to a narrow street lie.

If the ball is sitting at the top of the grass, you can often treat it as a normal stroke. But when the ball begins to dive into the harsh, it’s time to appreciate:

  • Can you see half the ball?
  • One -third of the ball?
  • Barely any of them at all?

The less the ball you can see, the more you need to adjust your configuration and swing.

If you try to make a standard pace from a buried lie, the grass can get between the club and the ball, drastically affecting the contact, the flight of the ball and the distance.

2 Glue the shoulders toward the target

Adjust your configuration so that your lead shoulder is lower and your trail shoulder is higher – this shifts your sternum and upper body slightly to the target. This position creates a rapid angle of the attack, helping the club’s head hit the back of the ball cleanly before excavating the ground.

Let this configuration automatically create the fastest oscillation. As you climb forward, your weight should favor your lead side throughout the swing, which will help you hit the ball more.

3 You have to hit the ground

When the ball is sitting, resist the encouragement to “help” it in the air. Instead, commit to hitting down on the ground.

With the fastest configuration, your club should approach the ball in a descending road. Focus on the insertion of the club into a dirt – not just by washing the top of the grass.

4. Wait a shorter follow -up

Your steep setting and weight forward can slightly limit your back, and your tracking may feel shorter than usual. That’s okay. The goal is down and not, not a complete conclusion. Keep your weight and upper body forward to provide solid contact with the ball in front of the ground.

5. You may need more attic

When you bend ahead, your club naturally de-lofts. This means that your 7-Hakur can act more like a 5-time.

To oppose this, consider using a more tired club. A hybrid wood or free road can also be a great opportunity to dig the ball and return to the game.
