Sam Burns stood in it
Burns has five PGA Tour wins in his resume, but he has never been close to claiming in a big championship. In fact, Burns has only one Top 10 in diplomas in 20 previous appearances, and that was last year in Pinehurst, where he finished T9.
But a cute round of Five-Nine 65 On Friday Burns started in the conversation, and he hanged on Saturday, firing a Gutsy 69 to keep himself in the lead.
Adam Scott’s main chance
More than 12 years have passed since Adam Scott’s great progress in the 2013 masters, and the 44-year-old is now able to become the second oldest US Open winner.
Scott has been a world -class player for more than two decades, and has accumulated 20 top 10 in big championships during his career. Could this be the last chance of Aussie in the main glory?
Can Scottie Scheffler still win?
After the 73-71-70 round break, Scheffler has never been really in the mix in this US Open.

But, in four, he is T11 and eight shots back, going to the last round. Arnold Palmer holds the record for the biggest return to win the US Open after starting the last round of seven blows again at Cherry Hills in 1960. A victory from Scottie on Sunday would require a historic show. But we will never say when it comes to world no. 1.
Others in the mixture
Only two major winners currently reside in the 11 chairperson in the manager: Scott (-3) and Scheffler (+4).
For everyone else, winning this week’s challenge in Oakmont would mark the main title of their daughters.
Victor Hovland is three shots back. JJ spaun is a back blow. Carlos Ortiz is four shots back, and Thriston Lawrence and Tyrrell Hatton are five shots back.
