If you have not planned a weekend holiday for this week’s Wyndham championship, well, we are not here to blame you. There are some other things that are happening. The last major of the year is developing in AIG Open Women In Porthcawl, while the men’s game is still in difficult drowsiness between the end of the major and the start of the play -offit. Maybe you have planned to mow your lawn. See some friends. Play a small golf yours.
But while there are always interesting subplots in the final season of this Tour PGA, this year there seems to be more than usual. With fewer points of the available Play off, more money in line, Ryder Cup Spots in the balance plus work security and more at risk, almost everyone in the field have something extra to play.
Here are five of those most intriguing things:
1. Before, money, money
If you only polish in mention of more millions for catching in men’s golf, all good. I get it. Pass to the next point of lead. But in addition to the $ 8.2 million bag of WynDham, there are numerous seasonal rewards in the country which means there is a LOT of money ready for capture.
First there are Top 10 Comcast Business Tour 10, which drinks $ 40 million in the top 10 of the regular season as follows:
Comcast Business Tour Top 10 Bonus
1 – $ 8 mil
$ 2 – $ 6 million
3 – 4.8 million dollars
$ 4 – 4.4 million dollars
$ 5 – $ 4 million
$ 6 – 3.4 million dollars
$ 7 – 2.8 million dollars
$ 8 – 2.4 million dollars
9 – 2.2 million dollars
$ 10 – $ 2 million
But get this: there is also First payment of FedEx Cup bonus now They are spreading love in three different payments. Ignoring the fact that it is laughing to have two different regular season price funds that are distributed at the same time and using different payment structures, it seems:
Regular payment of FedEx Cup season
$ 1 – 10 million dollars
$ 2 – $ 4 million
3 – 1.2 million dollars
$ 4 – 1 million dollars
5 – 800k dollars
6 – 700k dollars
7 – 650k dollars
8 – 600k dollars
9 – 550k dollars
10 – 500k dollars
The bad news, wise for fun, is that the two main points are already closed. Congratulations, Scottie Schefflerto your $ 18 million ($ 8 million from Comcast, $ 10m from FedEx). Congratulations, Rory Mcilroywith your $ 10 million ($ 6 million and $ 4 million). They will get that sweet, sweet direct deposit without setting foot everywhere near Greensboro, NC – and they will have more bonus money along the way. But after them, things get a little more interesting.
Ben griffin (No. 7 in FedEx Cup), KEEGAN BRADLEY (No. 10), Andrew Novak (No. 12) and Robert Macintre (No. 15) everyone can move with a high conclusion. If Griffin won, he will collect the winner of $ 1.48 million plus improve his bonus salary of more than $ 2.5 million, for example. Captain Keegan must provide (or improve) currently predicted $ 2.5 million before the bonus.
And then there are boys trying to steal from the outside Top 10, which includes the possibility of tantalization that Novak could win this week, catch Bradley in the Ryder Cup rankings and capture his $ 2.5 million as he is fighting for a captain. (Bob Macintre Could also discover Bradley, starting Ryder Cup early tensions.)
2. Spots Playoff
I know it’s hard to keep track, so let’s review: 70 players now make FedEx Cup Play off. Then 50 make the BMW championship of the second round and 30 make the final of the big money tour championship.
So this week we are called to bubble boys. Long Tone (No. 60) and Rickie Fowler (No. 61) are almost safe for 70 balls, but here things look behind them:
62 – Davis Riley, 651.7 Points of FedEx Cup
63 – Kevin Yu, 644.3
64 – ERIK VAN ROOYEN, 634.4
65 – Nico Echavarria, 628.5
66 – Emiliano Grillo, 627.6
67 – Cam Davis, 616.3
68 – Patrick Rodgers, 615.6
69 – Ben an, 595.4
70 – Matti Schmid, 594.6
–
71 – Nicolai Hojgaard, 590.4
72 – Keith Mitchell, 589.3
73 – Chris Kirk, 582
74 – Christiaan Bezuidenhout, 575.1
75 – Gary Woodland, 562.1
76 – Kevin Roy, 555.8
77 – Alex Smalley, 553.8
78 – Davis Thompson, 551.6
79 – Eric Cole, 546.2
80 – William Mouw, 526.7
These are some few but significant boundaries; Top 70 will go navigate without concerns in full status for season 2026 (okay, they will still sweat in 50 balls, etc. Speaking of which
3. Safety at work
This year the tournament is cutting its cards with full status to 100 instead of 125 (No. 101-125 will have partial status.) This cut will not happen this week-on the contrary it will end at the end of the fall season with seven events. But if you are out of the 70 best, this will be your latest tournament by mid -September in ProCore in Napa, Calif., Which means there is some emergency before a long break. Here as THAT Bubble looks at the moment, displaying a visible favorite fan in no. 101; I have also played those players who are excluded in 2026.
91 – Danny Walker
92 – Matt Wallace
93 – Garrick Higgo
94 – Taylor Moore
95 – Vince Whaaley
96 – Beau Hossler
97 – Billy Horschel*
98 – Mark Hubbard
99 – Max McGrerevy
100 – Isaiah Salinda
101 – Joel Dahmen
102 – Lee Hodges
103 – Rico Hoey
104 – Austin Eckroat*
105 – Jesper Svenson
106 – Max Homa*
107 – Victor Perez
108 – Patrick Fishburn
109 – Chan kim
110 – Alejandro Tosti
4. Spots Ryder Cup (USA Edition team)
Most Ryder Cup locks are not playing this week – we do not have schefflers, schauffeles or even spauns and henleys of the World by removing it. But there is still a lot of USA intrigue.
Not only three Americans in Ryder Cup Mix playing – Griffin, Bradley and Novak are no. 9, 10 and 13 in the US ranking – they are actually playing at the same time The first two rounds, which means a chance for audition directly before Bradley. (Bradley’s audition for Bradley is, of course, more convincing.)
These people will coast everyone on the play off, of course, so this is not a last look. But Griffin and Novak have flattened slightly after the red red is extended earlier this season; Time to see if they can make a move.
There are other guys who can go into some kind of heater and get into the conversation – Lucas Glovers, Cameron Youngs AND Sam Stevens of the world. But we will have our eyes trained in the first three, for now.
5. Spots Ryder Cup (Team Europe Edition)
Due to the way European benefits plan their seasons, Ryder Cup Bubble boys can be FedEx Cup bubble boys. This means that this week there are some of the goods they are playing to extend their seasons and also extend their audition periods a few weeks longer. Most important Rasmus Hojgaard (No. 7 in Ryder Cup ranking, No. 82 in FedEx Cup), Matt Wallace (No. 11 in Ryder Cup, No. 92 in FedEx Cup) and Nicolai Hojgaard (No. 25 in Ryder Cup, No. 71 in FedEx Cup). Nicolai just needs a strong conclusion, where Rasmus or Wallace need something special to continue their seasons in the US. If not, it will be interesting to see if they add some European events such as the Danish Golf Championship (August 14-17, a logical adaptation for Danish twins) or British Betfred Masters (August 21-24) should lose 70 balls.
There are other contenders for that European final country in the WynDham field, too, one more likely (Matthew Fitzpatrick, Currently no. 13 in the European team list) and others who need a spraying (Thomas Detry, Aaron Rai, Harry Hall).
From my rear-napkin math there are nine blockages for the European team (Jon Rahm, Rory Mcilroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Ludwig Aberg, Tyrrell Hatton, Bob Macintyre, Sepp Straka, Victor Hovland AND Shane Lowry). How about the last three? There is a small golf left to play to discover it.
Always is always a good week to spend a good week. This week is just even better.
