5 Signs Your Golf Practice is damaging your game

When I was younger, I could spend hours in the range hitting the ball behind the ball. I love it, but I can’t say sincerely that it translates into many improvements in the Golf Course. As I grew up and had less time to practice, I learned that only 20 minutes of concentrated work could be more influential than all those wondered hours.

Most amateurs spend 20 or 30 minutes in the range, but leave without making significant improvements. If that sounds familiar, here are five clear signs, your practice may be damaging your game, along with how to fix it.

1) Your good shooting do not repeat

We have all felt that a clean strike that is unfortunately followed by three that go aside. If your best shakes feel like accidents, your practice is not building consistency. This usually happens when you do not pay attention to reactions to contact or ball flight.

Adjust it:

  • Draw a line or place a stretch stick slightly in front of the ball. Your divas should start constantly after it. This simple checkpoint trains repeated contact. Also, watch this video from Bryson. He is helping a new golf player, but it’s one of my favorite examples on how to practice the right way.

2) You can’t find a rhythm on the course

In the range, it is easy to fall at a fast pace, a swing after another, over and over in the middle. This rhythm feels comfortable in practice, but it is nothing like the real golf.

In the course, every stroke takes time. You choose a target, open back and probably think about your swinging. That extra space can leave you with a second conjecture and struggling to pull the trigger. If your practice never includes that pause, your pace will be divided in the middle of the round.

Adjust it:

  • Slow down your interval sessions. Handle at least half of your shots like you on the course. Use your full pre-shop routine, including a full pause, and hit it SHOTSnot just another ball. Train yourself to get inside, engage and swing without adding additional opinions.

3) You panic when the lie is not perfect

If a ball below your legs or a narrow road chip makes you scare before you swing, this is a sign your practice is very comfortable. If you only train on flat mattresses or grassy grass, you will not know how to fit when the earth or lies is thin.

Adjust it:

  • Put 10 practical balls in different lies including uphill, descending, ball over the legs, ball under the leg. Forget the perfect mechanics and focus on making solid contact from each attitude. Also, try to hit some of the rough and

4) You fight the moment you have to create a shot

When you are in a situation when you need a low punch, a knackdown or a high, soft wedge, feel lost. This is because practice is usually one-dimensional. You will use the same club, the same target and the same movement. If you never train creativity, you will never believe in competition.

Adjust it:

  • Add a “shot game” to each string session. Select a target, then hit a top, a low, a draw, a fade. Don’t worry about perfection. Learn how the ball reacts and what to do to hit these types of shooting.

5) You don’t know why a good shot occurred

Everyone occasionally, you blush one, but if you can’t explain why, it will be really difficult to repeat it. You may not be including reflection In your practice. Without reflection, you are really practicing only in the direction range instead of learning what it really works in your movement.

Adjust it:

  • After each clean strike, stop and write or get mental notes of a “feeling” you have noticed. It can be tempo, syllable pressure, and even ball position. Over time, you will link the points between what you felt and what it produced.

Final thoughts

Wind verse sessions are sometimes fun. However, if you are looking to get your game to the next level, you may need to put a little more real job. Smarter practice, Even for just 20 minutesIt can change how your game holds under pressure. The difference between the ball stroke and actually improving.
