Hello friends and happy Thursday from Royal! To the amazement of absolutely no one, I had another beautiful day in The open championship. Because this is my first time in Open, I have kept a list of mental direction of all the things I like so far about this event, and finally decided to put that list on paper.
So without further ado, here are all the things I want for the open championship!
5. The weather
I have to say that I have never experienced such weather before. One minute, it is brilliantly sunny. Five minutes later, it’s up. I am a weather fan here in northern Ireland (at least as a short -term visitor) because you should not commit to a full day of the same thing. There is no need to feel bad to spend the time inside when you are ready to start raining anyway, and I have definitely done the most sunny moments here. I have booked it from the media center to the course after the sun comes out in a way that I finally do not do at other events. Oh, and it’s also nice to see that players have to take the course in all kinds of elements throughout the space of a single round.
4. Looking at the players out and around!
I like how small and walking Portrait It is we ran into at least two players every night, as well as other media friends, cadds, agents and family members of the best. Whether it’s on a course on the course, at a restaurant or even outside on another local course, we are just running on popular faces in a way that I haven’t experienced since I lived in a college camp.
3. How many young people are on the tournament
I remember going to my first golf tour as a young child and I noticed that I was distinguished as an elementary school among many in the 60s and 1970s. I had an explosion and didn’t think much about it but couldn’t help but I didn’t notice how different is the experience for children in Championship This week. From young children to teens and everything in the middle, Royal portrait is where you are if you are a child in northern Ireland this week. There are massive bags of beans and picnics tables for families if someone needs breathing, but I have also seen children outside the most remote spots of the course of their lives. And the autograph area is fully filled while players come through.
It was a similar scene on Tuesday evening when my associates and I went to steal at a fast nine on Ballreagh Golf Course. The place was full, and most groups were made up of teens or a parent and their young children. Ballyeagh is the perfect place for kids to enjoy the game-is a Par-3 course with some of the most stunning images I’ve ever seen. The future of the game here in northern Ireland is in good hands!
2. The late sun
There is nothing better than leaving the golf course after a day of fun just to have a few hours more sunlight in front of you! I am used to this during the summer months in New England, but that too is nothing like the hours of the day in Portrush. The sun settles at 9:54 pm tonight, and last night I went home from dinner at 10:45 in the afternoon and was not completely dark for half an hour. My associates and I are planning on a round of golf after dinner later this week and the fact that the good can play so late a day is a dream. Bad news for the crowd “too dark to play”, but extraordinary news for the rest of us.
1. Fans’ love for Rory Mcilroy
I went to the first tee to see the time of Tommy Tommy Fleetwood, Rory Mcilroy and Justin Thomas Tee, and I’m so, so happy I did because it was one of the most delightful things I’ve ever seen. Can’t stress enough how famous Big Mcilroy (maybe even legend) It’s over here. There is a roar for everyone here, but the screams for mcilroy are at another level. People go nuts when he reaches the stage.
The energy that everyone in the first hole had as we expected Mcilroy to go to the first Tee felt very similar to the reception for Taylor Swift to take the scene in Eras Tour. It was somewhat quiet and everyone was looking around trying to get a clear picture of where their hometown hero would appear. And when he finally did it, the country broke out.
It should be so interesting for Mcilroy to return to northern Ireland and get this type of reception. I don’t care if he is accustomed to getting attention in the tours in the United States, this is at a completely different level. And the fact that this is home for mcilroys does so, much better.
What I am looking forward to
The tournament has just begun, so there is still much to wait while the week continues. I have some family friends who come to the tour this weekend, which I am very excited about. I am excited to try more restaurants, go to the ice cream place that Mcilroy recommended, stroll around the city with my associates, continue to tear up beer and most importantly, see some great championship golf.
There is much more to come from portrait, and I can’t wait to tell you all!
