Did they enjoy all that little, two-week vacation? Since Tommy Fleetwood successfully captured his first PGA Tour win in the tour championship, Golf in the United States has been out for the last two weeks while the opening of the football season has prevailed in the sports landscape. But golf is back for a twener season, if you want, and at the end of the month, of course, we also have Ryder Cup in Bethpage Black in New York.
Welcome to FedEx Cup autumn. Starting this week in Napa, California, the ProCore Championship will be the first of the seven shifts from now and the middle of November To determine 30 additional players Who will keep their tour cards for the next 2026 season. 70 best in the FedEx Cup rankings who progressed at the Play off last month are already qualified for the 2026 campaign. Those who are able to enter the top 100 places at FedExcup points during this autumn activity will also provide the tour status for season 2026.
North Course in Silverado Country Club In Napa is the scene of this week’s event, and talking about the Ryder Cup, every member of the US team is on the field this week, except Xander Schauffe and Bryson Dechambeau. Silverado is a short course in just over 7,100 yards and plays in a par 72. betting the winning result on the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook is 266.5, means 21.5 under the par. The fair’s streets are narrow and treated with trees, but the rough is short and not very punitive. Of course, we are in northern California and the combination of Bentgrass greens and Poa Annua is not rare in these parts.
I like the efficiency from Tee to Silverado more than I do distance driving, but a small length does not hurt either. I looked at the shocks won: from tee and good drives won. Access game is essential as it is always. Players will need to negotiate a lot of doglegs this week, so hitting the ball will be very important. Perhaps most importantly, though it will be the game access from 100-150 yards and also clashes. And then of course, I looked at the strokes: putting a mixture of bentgrass and poa Annua.
2025 ProCore Championship Championship: US Ryder Cup team prevails favorites
Kevin Cunningham
Only three courses related to me this week and they are TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas. Similar length, countless roads lined with trees, very non-generous approximate and emphasis on the clash. Pebblewhich shares the characteristics of northern California and also Poa Annua Greens – and again, an accent in the clash. Finally, Detroit Golf Clubwhere they play Classic Rocket. The efficiency of running, clash and wedge game from 100-150 are a common ground here with Silverado.
Maverick McNealy (29-1)
You have to ask yourself if you are missing in the Ryder Cup team will have it by having something extra impressive this week. He is really playing the best golf of his career for last year and finished the race here in Napa and Pebble Beach, both in 2021. He also has Top-10 conclusions on both TPC Summerlin and Detroit. After growing up in Pebble Beach, McNealy is very popular with the area and golf course and is one of the best placers on the field.
JJ SPAUN (29-1)
Not sure what’s going on in Jj Spaun’s head now, coming out so far the best season of his career and now headed to play in his first Ryder cup, but I love him as a very good fit for this golf course. He is very effective by Tee, an excellent ball striker and has grown in southern California, he is also well known for these areas they set. He has been as high as his 11th and ninth here in Napa, Top-10 in Summerlin and Detroit, and has been up to the 16th in Pebble Beach.
Davis Thompson (50-1)
This was one of the first players to be thrown from the page for me this week because he is such a good golf ball driver and his wedge game from 100-150 yards is a strong suit. This is well translated into interconnected courses. In addition to a Top-10 conclusion here in Napa in 2022, he took fifth place in the TPC Summerlin in 2024 and was a competitor in Detroit that year.

Andrew Putnam (200-1)
Now we get into a pair of triple-digit bombs. Putnam is another West Coast boy who grew up in Washington, went to school in southern California, and currently lives in the Phoenix area. He has finished Top-20 in TPC Summerlin four times. He has been as high as the sixth in Pebble Beach, and only at the beginning of this summer did he end up at the Rocket Classic in Detroit. Putnam is very effective by tee and is great in access, especially within 100 yards. Like McNealy, Putnam also owns a short elite game.
Taylor Montgomery (225-1)
The birth of Las Vegas has also shown that he can play very well in California nearby. One of the best placers in the game, Montgomery took third place here in Napa in 2022. During the last 24 rounds, he ranks 17th in this field for birds or better won and is second for the pricks gained in par 5s. If work outside tee can match its short pieces of game this week, this long time will fight once again.
