4 things we learned from the Electric Champions League tie

Liverpool and PSG traveled on Tuesday night and Gianluigi Donnarumma twice saved Reds in the shooting to send Luis Enrique’s side to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

The visitors were forced to dig thoroughly after taking an advantage through Ousmane Dembele, with the side of Arne Slot enjoying their first periods of pressure sustained in the tie during the second half.

There were subtle switches in impetus, and PSG remained a threat before it came out stronger towards the end of the prolonged period. From the place, the leaders of League 1 were perfect, while Donnarumma denied Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones to send Enrique’s men.

His exhibition at Merseyside was not so dazzling compared to what they produced in Paris, but PSG’s performance on both legs showed that they need what is needed to go all the way.

Here are four things we learned from the Second part in Anfield.

Ousmane Dembele

How many times have we seen that PSG teams fold in these types of environments over the years? Behind the tie with Anfield facilitating a fierce start of Liverpool, the dresses of before would probably have succumbed.

But once again, this dress led by Luis Enrique showed that they are made of more severe things. After mastering the first section of last week before losing late, Psg He had to offer a box and fall box defending his early leadership.

We have enjoyed PSG with larger names with a large amount, but they have never been presumed to us so much supreme cohesion. All the troops used to combat the previous iterations begin to fade through the excellent Enrique coach and the philosophical change of PSG in a post-Kic Mbapping world. It is a bright team to see, with its telepathy in possession Igualada by relentless.

It is not only the remarkable way of Dembele or the family name of Marquinhos who has supported this competition perpetually, but the emerging brilliance of Willian Pacho, its cutters that contribute to the two ends, as well as the small frames in the middle of the park that make a fist loaded with Guilis.

Oh, and what about the teenager, Desire Doue, who won it from 12 meters? They are the best on the continent right now.

Gianluigi Donnarumma, Curtis Jones

Seeing that Gianluigi Donnarumma flying in a penalty shot is a vision that does not have to remember any fan of English football.

While Liverpool has one of the best goalkeepers in the world in Alisson, it does not have enough Aura of Italian 6’4 when you walk and try to overcome it from 12 meters. The Brazilian won a glove at Vitinha’s opening outlet, but was beaten emphatically by the rest. On the contrary, Donnarumma launched to his left and the right to deny Núñez and Jones respectively. His latter savings was especially bright.

The Italian heroics helped PSG in their first penalty shooting victory in any UEFA competition, and came after a poor start to produce sound performance and without errors, with efficient punches to override the threat of Liverpool’s deliveries in the box.

Diogo jota, marquinhos

Arne Slot’s proactivity has been praised during the first year Liverpool Crushing, and it was a surprise that took the Dutch while doing so to head to his bank.

On a night when Nuno Mendes surpassed Mohamed Salah at the points after TKO victory last week, Liverpool could have done it with one of the Egyptian support events to increase. The slot opted for Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota here with Dominik Szoboszlai, providing a relentless career power from midfield.

The Hungarian was impressive, but Diaz and Jota struggled to fill the gap left by a submissive Salah. Jota has endured a stop campaign and did not coincide with a PSG bottom line that commanded his box. As he attracted a couple of faults from the second half to get Liverpool the pitch, he barely had a goal view and often struggled to knit things on the counter.

Diaz was without a doubt and usually splitting, but those in favor of the red decisiveness so often enjoyed the right rarely arrived on the opposite flank. In crucial moments, the Colombian hesitated.

Salah’s inevitability this season has masked the possible shortcomings of Liverpool’s attacking arsenal, and on Tuesday the second stage showed that a couple of ahead can be improved.

Khvicha kvaratskhelia

You associate with the ex -Napoli extract that has quickly reached the ground running in Paris with dazzling work and a launch aesthetic. However, Kvaratskhelia’s willingness to work out of possession is an undervalued aspect of its stellar set of skills.

There is a reason why Antonio Conte was so desire to build his Naples team around the MVP in the series at 2022/23. Not only is he immensely talented in possession, he is ready to run on the ground to try to contribute to the collective.

His disinterest has been easily fitted in the framework of Enrique. He was majestic in the first first leg, and there were some sequences on Tuesday that typified the nature of Kvaratskhelia. The end returned to Alexis Mac Allister in the first half, and was a challenge in the Argentinian who produced a response from the KOP. Then, when the PSG backs were against the wall in the second half, Kvaratskehlia was alert to a piece to deny Salah’s effort to restore parity overnight.

A dream of a manager.
