3 keys to translating the Golf simulator practice into the course

Playing Golf in New York City can be tricky. From where I live in brooklyn, should at least 45 minutes to reach a course – and that is without Suffice it to say, playing Golf in NYC gets a serious dedication.

With the ability to visit a series of direction severely limited by these time limitations, I find myself doing most of my practice in simulators. Has one Five iron Not far from my apartment, and I usually go there several times a week to beat balls. It’s not exactly the same as hitting grass in the sun, but it’s better than nothing.

Practicing at the simulator is a great way to get some repetitions throughout the week – especially in winter – but comes with some restrictions. Because of this, when I go out on the course, I need to make some adjustments to translate that imitation practice into the course.

Below, Top 100 Golf teacher Joe Hallett explains three ways you can practice on the imitator that will help you after returning out.

How to translate your simulator practice outside

So you have made the investment. Are you Got the simulator, And you can even remove it on some of the best golf courses in your magic car. Life is good. In fact, you are a +2 handicap in your home – but in the current course, you are playing more like a 6 or 7. What gives?

Here are some tips to help translate that home performance for outdoor success.

1. You’re swinging freely inside – keep it feeling out

At the simulator, you are letting it bake. The ball travels only a few meters, so there is less fear of the consequences. This freedom often leads to more loose, more secure oscillations. When you go on the course, try to bring the same commitment to your full shakes. Do not tighten.

2. Call in your handcuffs – and embrace the variety

Your note cuffs are essential. In the course, you face unequal conditions, wind and terrain conditions – none of which you experience inside. To prepare, practice the stroke:

  • Trajectory: High, medium and low shots
  • Shots: fades and attracts

This helps to develop better feeling and fit – two keys to cleanse, sustainable contact outside.

3. Update your short game practice

The land inside the house is often from a perfect lie. This is not a reality. Try this drill: Hit three types of chip shooting at the same target – a standard chip, a low runner and a high and soft stroke. Pay attention to which clubs work best for everyone.
