Separate training time for the 3rd round
There are two rounds left to play at the 2026 Sony Open, but defending champion Nick Taylor is making a strong case for a repeat win in Hawaii.
The 37-year-old Canadian has five career PGA Tour wins, including last year’s title at Sony. And he has already put himself in prime position to defend his title, shooting rounds of 62-69 to reach nine under par, good enough for a five-way tie at the top of the leaderboard.
But Taylor will have plenty of competition for the title over the next 36 holes. A total of twenty-seven players are within four shots of the lead, including Ben Griffin, Jake Knapp, Chris Gotterup and Maverick McNealy.
Taylor will begin the 3rd round in the penultimate doubles at 6:05 pm ET on Saturday along with Adrien Dumont de Chassart.
