The 2026 Augusta Women’s National Amateur begins this week at Champions Retreat Golf Club AND Augusta National in Georgia. There, the best female amateurs in the country will fight for the prestigious title. Here’s everything you need to know to watch ANWA 2026.
Augusta Women’s National Amateur preview
This year marks the seventh edition of the Augusta Women’s National Amateur, which was first contested in 2019. This week 72 female amateur golfers will compete in three rounds to determine the champion. In total, 48 of the top 50 players in the women’s amateur golf rankings are in the field, including world No. 1 Kiara Romero.
Of the 37 returning ANWA competitors in the field, two have made it to the women’s amateur championships in Augusta: Tsubasa Kajitani AND Anna Davis. Kajitani won the ANWA in 2021, while Davis took the title home in 2022.
Last year’s winner, Carla Bernat Escudernot in the field to defend her win in 2025. America’s top amateur Asterisk Talleywho finished runner-up last year, will look to close out her stellar amateur career with a victory in ANWA.
2026 ANWA format
The 2026 Augusta Women’s National Amateur will be a 54-hole stroke play event. The first two rounds will be played at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Ga.on Wednesday, April 1 and Thursday, April 2. The field will then be trimmed to the top 30 players and ties.
On Friday, all competitors in the field will play a practice round at Augusta Nationalwhether or not they made the cut. Finally, on Saturday, April 4, the top 30 players will compete on the historic fairways of Augusta National to determine the 2026 ANWA winner.
What the winner of ANWA 2026 gets
The winner of the Augusta Women’s National Amateur receives no cash, but will gain access to several important tournaments.
These tournaments include four LPGA Championships – the 2026 US Women’s Open, the 2026 AIG Women’s Open, the 2026 Evian Championship and the 2026 Chevron Championship – and every USGA and R&A event they are eligible for over the next year. Provided they remain an amateur, the 2026 champion will also earn a spot in the next five Augusta National Women’s Amateurs.

How to watch on TV
All three rounds of the 2026 Augusta Women’s National Amateur will be televised live. Golf Channel will carry the first and second rounds at the Champions Retreat on Wednesday and Thursday from 1:30-3:30pm ET. NBC will then air exclusive television coverage of Saturday’s final round at Augusta National from 12-3pm ET.
