The PGA Tour’s 2026 American Express begins Thursday, Jan. 22, with the opening round in La Quinta, California. You can find the full American Express match times for Thursday’s first round at the bottom of this post.
Separate training time for round 1
WHEREAS Scottie Scheffler AND Rory McIlroy dominated the headlines of 2025, and deservedly so, Ben Griffin had a breakthrough season of his own. The 29-year-old caught his first three PGA Tour wins to go from obscurity to household name.
The stellar year earned him a spot on the US Ryder Cup team and earned him a Player of the Year nomination.
Unlike Scheffler and a number of other stars making their season debuts this week on American Express, Griffin is the starting No. 2. He played last week’s Sony Open in Hawaii, where he finished T19.
On Thursday, Griffin will begin his tour of the Nicklaus Tour Course at PGA Westone of three courses hosted by American Express this week.
Griffin will begin the opening round on Thursday at 1:31 PM ET playing alongside his US Ryder Cup teammate. Patrick Cantlay.
