It’s time for Agara Sears
Exhibiting Sears has always had a speed that makes the heads. In April last year, when he was 10.77 seconds in the beark of Gainesville Percy, it felt a breakthrough, which will change his career. The wind was legal, the performance was clean, and the quick time throwing fast enough to the Olympic conversation. To make a piece of who already built a solid college resume, it was a bold statement on the next stage willingness.
But the momentum is fragile. Soon after that performance, the injury has stopped its progress. He missed the Olympic trials and the games of Paris, watching the side when his peers were lined on the biggest stage. It was a thorough blow for the athlete for something special. The disappointment was left, but the desire to return more strongly.
Now Sears reappears on CUSP. Healthy and motivated, he carefully rebuilt his season. His 2025 campaign was patience, rhythm and learning how to manage his body and mind as a specialist. The results begin to show. He ran in 10.85 seconds, in early July, in the Prefontaine Classic 100m B race, connecting twins to the world’s second fastest time in this season. He followed that on July 11, using 11.02 efforts in Monaco, turning around the high level of field. His body keeps and the numbers improve the week weekly.
What Sears Searts Besides, not just the time of the clock. That’s how open it is behind the return. He clearly speaks of his faith, his daily habits and small regimes. Good things like eating well, sleeping better, and communicating with his coaches allows him to be ready. There is no maturity in his voice that was not always there in college. This is his first year as professional, and adjustment has been significant.

Sears is not a home name, some of his peers, but he builds something with calm determination. The 100 m field of women in the United States is deeper than ever. Melissa Jefferson-Wooden takes the box – best 10.73. The Ford’s Terry and Yameyesia Ford has also run to 10.90, and like Alexis Brown, like Alexis Brown, is fighting for spots.
Still Sears has shown that he belongs to the conversation. His top-3 sign is next to him next to this year’s best in 10.85. His early closed form, where he seemed sharply and focused, hinted that the foundation was there. Now that during the days the trials are approaching, the rest and performance.
He knows the stakes. The World Tokyo Championship is the next major target for every American Sprinter. The US team would mean not only the repayment not only from the previous year, but also the approval of the work. Margins are strong, and nothing is promised in an event where the second is determined by career.
His latest results, his calm presence and his growing confidence assumed that he was at the right time at the right time. The marking will be large, but Sears have already done the hardest part. He was backing up. Now all eyes turn to trials. If he can reproduce the flow and shape he has shown in pieces, he can finally secure his place on the national team.
