LIVERPOOL (GBR). A strong field will be headlined by the senior races at the Liverpool Cross Challenge on November 22nd, a test race for the SPAR European Cross Country Championships. The senior women’s race features last year’s European Under-23 champion Phoebe Anderson against Abbey Donnelly and Jessica Warner-Judd and last year’s winner Kate Axford. The senior men’s race features brothers Zakaria and Mohamed Mohamed, twins Charles and George Wheeler and Rory Leonard. Former Olympic 5,000m finalist Andrew Butchart is also on the entry list. Innes Fitzgerald is due to compete in the women’s under-20 race.
DERRY (IRL). European Cup 10,000m winner Ephraim Gidey and triple European cross country medalist Nick Griggs head the bids for Sunday’s Irish Cross Country Championships (23) in Derry. The women’s race features Niamh Allen, who finished 10th in the senior women’s race at the Antalya 2024 SPAR European Cross-Cross Championships, and Eimear Maher, the 1500m bronze medalist at the Bergen 2025 European Under-23 Championships. COPENHAGEN (DEN). Denmark have entered their team for the SPAR European Championships in Lagoa on December 14th. Notable names in the team include European Under-23 10,000m champion Joël Ibler Lilleso and last year’s European Under-20 cross-country bronze medalist Sofia Togersen. Both athletes will compete in the U23 race. Two-time European under-23 champion Anna Emily Moler was included in the senior women’s team.
KIEV (Ukraine). The team includes Andrei Atamanyuk, who recently won the Balkan cross country title. Ukraine will field athletes in all six individual events, as well as in the mixed relay.
