Separate training time for the 2nd round
Former Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama was already the featured star in this year’s Sony Open field, but then he came out and won the season-opening Sentrytopping the best players on Tour in the process.
Now he’s hoping for a Swing-sweep in Hawaii to make it two in a row to start the 2025 season.
After starting the opening round late Thursday, Matsuyama will begin his second round on the previous side, starting Friday afternoon at 12:50 ET, and he will again be grouped with Sahith Theegala AND Russell Henley.
You can watch Friday’s second round at the 2025 Sony Open from 7-10:30pm ET on Golf Channel. You can also stream coverage of the featured group via PGA Tour live on ESPN+ starting at 12pm ET.
