A year after announcing she would begin winding down her professional golf career, the 11-time LPGA Tour winner Lexi Thompson is in contention with 18 holes to play in a pro event.
This week, Thompson has joined the PGA Tour pro Wyndham Clarke at the Grant Thornton Invitational. Through two rounds, the pair of major winners are just two shots off the lead held by Lauren Coughlin and Andrew Novak.
Charlie Hull and Michael Brennan are tied for second at 18 under.
The format for Sunday’s final will be a modified four-ball, in which both players will hole the ball, switch balls for their second shots and then play the same ball until it is holed.
