The third edition of the Grant Thornton Invitational is out and running, with Charlie Hull and Michael Brennan sharing the lead in the first round with Lexi Thompson AND Wyndham Clark that 17 according to par.
The first day’s format was a scramble, and the leading teams put on quite a show, netting 13 birdies and two eagles each.
Saturday’s format will be significantly tougher, as teams will play foursomes, or alternate shots. What kind of strategy will be in play?
“I don’t know,” Brennan said after the round. “We just finished recording and we saw Jeff and Adam, our corpses, walking through the yards and talking on the phone. So maybe listen to what they’re saying.”
