Pro Canadian Taylor Pendrith flirted with a rare 59 Thursday at TPC Summerlin. When the opening round was over, he was still set for an excellent 10-under 61.

That was good enough to give Pendrith a comfortable lead going into Friday’s second round in Las Vegas, although many proven winners had their own excellent opening rounds, such as Rickie Fowler AND Gary Woodland.
