It’s our New Year’s book offer Pre! America’s Greatest Running Legend, by Tom Jordan

Pre! cover art by Tom Jordan

The Pre! The book has been one of my favorites since college. I have gone through 3 copies. The latest edition, edited and written by Tom Jordan and published by Rodale Press (publishers of Runners World magazine for many years), showcases the incredible talent and sophistication of the American distance runner. who placed 4th in the 1972 Olympics.5,000m, set ARs from 2 miles to 10,000 m and died in a car accident in 1975. In addition to writing the book, Tom Jordan has directed NIKE Pre-Classic for most of its 45 years.

Get inspired by Steve Prefontaine Steve had goals. He never missed a day of training in college. Pre’s secret sauce was building a plan for 2025. Ask your trainer to set some training goals.

I put cards on my mirror every year with the times I wanted, like 2:06, 4:30, 10:00 in high school, I put 4:25, 9:30, 3:20 I missed the others. Dream a little!

Other book recommendations: Homemade Olympia by Ron Dawes , Clear Heels by Murray Hallberg, , First! By Tom Jordan.
