20 teams have reportedly expressed interest in Rocky Sasaki

This offseason in Major League Baseball was notable as many big-name free agents signed with new teams through the 2025 season.

Some of the major starters to switch teams include: Corbin Burns to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Blake Snell to the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Max Fried to the New York Yankees.

With many starters off the board, one interesting name remains.

Rocky Sasaki is a 23-year-old starter coming to the MLB from Japan as a free agent and reportedly has interest from multiple teams.

According to Sasaki’s agent Joel Wolff via Foul Territory at ‘X’, 20 MLB teams were initially interested in Sasaki.

Sasaki is one of the best and most exciting starters still available this offseason.

With his overseas team in 2024, Sasaki appeared in 18 games, posting a 10-5 record with a 2.35 ERA and 129 strikeouts in 111.0 innings.

While the Dodgers have reportedly been the favorite to sign Sasaki all offseason, Wolf’s report indicates that more than half of MLB’s teams are interested.

The Dodgers would make sense for Sasaki as their Japanese teammates Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto were also on the roster.

Sasaki will be one of the names to keep an eye on as the season goes on to see which team he wants to join in the 2025 season.

While the Dodgers are still the odds-on favorite, a dark horse team could always swoop in and make the final move.
