Seventeen-year-old Iva Jovic closed her dream week in Guadalajara, empowering the past Emiliana Arango of Colombia, 6-4, 6-1, on Sunday to capture her WTA title.

The southern California native, ranked at no.73, broke three times in a row to close a narrow opening set, then prevailed in the stretch, breaking serve six times in general and recovering the last four games to close the competition in one hour and 34 minutes.

In 17 years and 283 days, Jovic becomes the youngest player to win a Tournament in 2025, exceeding Dubai Mirra Andreeva champion with 16 days. She will make her debut on Monday, growing to no.36.
“You told so much war and gave people a show,” Jovic Arango told the trophy ceremony, before praising the 24-year-old for her kindness. “It’s not easy to start in the tournament when you’re young … But people like Emiliana make it easier and always have a smile on their face.”
Jovic also showed her war, winning three three-three-determination in her five matches in Mexico.
It joins a growing wave of fresh faces in the elite. According to WTA, eleven other players hit the top 50 in 2025:
