Scottie Scheffler had a Sunday evening in PGA.

Hello, friends, and welcome to this week’s edition of Rogers Report! Weekti my last week at home in Boston before I go back to the street for a little (hello, we women open!) And I’m feeling eager to get back there and see a golf personally. Side Note: If you have any ice cream recommendations on Hartford, Wisconsin (or Hartford, Connecticut, I think, as I will be there within a few weeks), let me know!
Scottie Scheffler There was another big win on Sunday evening, but don’t worry, I won’t get you through all the shooting he hit. Instead I will focus on the top 10 moments that followed his victory The empty quil. And Jim Nantz, if you are reading this: I’m annoyed you haven’t included “from prison to Quail!” In your winning call in the 72nd hole. I know you are the expert but that line was fair There is always the next time there.
Ok, in the good things.
Scheffler greets his family
There are some things in golf from which I will never get sick. One is seeing Tiger on his red Sunday during the final rounds. Another is my friends and associates saying, “This is good” when I leave a double double kick 8 meters short. And no. 3 You see Scottie and Mredith Scheffler to embrace each other after winning. And let’s accept it, with the way villain Has played, we see a lot.
Meredith Scheffler is one of my favorite Golf characters. I can see these two being what Jack and Barbara Nicklaus are in the world of golf in 50 years, and if I could have another person’s wardrobe, it would definitely be her. Her sun hat can block us to see the embracing schefflers, but we can always hear it saying, “I’m so proud of you”, again and again for her husband. They are so, so healthy and I’m such a fan of the first golf couple.
You may note that Bennett Scheffler, who is only one year old, is just as cold as it may be in this situation. I am lending it to the fact that he has done this all before. In fact, he has made it a LOT of times. Six, to be correct. He is on average a win for every two months of his life. This is nothing new for young Bennett.
In his life year, Bennett Scheffler has seen his father win:
– Memorial
– Travelers
– a golden Olympic medal
– Tour Championship
– CJ cup
– PGA Championship Pic.twitter.com/zxzGentemucn– Claire Rogers (@kclairerogers) May 18, 2025
Further we have Scottie Scheffler by greeting his parents, Scott and Diane.
Scheffler’s father had the sweetest message to his 28-year-old son: “Words can’t describe what we have just seen. You are the toughest guy and the sweetest guy. I am very proud of you. Thank you for never giving up, scottie. I am very proud.”
I can’t even imagine for a second how to go from teaching your child on how to walk, bring them to new golf tours, cheer them in college, to see them become world no. 1 and a big champion three times. It should feel like a big dream at a few points, and I could not help, but take a little tearful eye in this sweet family moment. For a family that produced the best golf player on the planet, Schefflers certainly look quite normal.
Scheffler climbs with bennett
All fathers may probably relate to what it is like to still have to do a little job, but wanting to stay with your children. Maybe you have to send an email or two in the middle of cases in a small league game. Maybe you ride a conference call from the car while you are on the McDonald’s car line with kids on your back. Or maybe, if you are Scottie Scheffler, you sign your main victory card-but only after placing your baby down with your hat and yard book so that he or she can stay busy for some moments.
The specifics of this scenario may be a little different for Scheffler, but I love how universal “let me keep my child busy for a minute here, in order to do my job” is for parents around the globe.
And it looks like Little Bennett had a great old time hanging on the note. I really hope these photos are adapting somewhere, mostly because they are adorable and a great memory, but also because one day Bennett Scheffler will realize how crazy the first year and change of his life, and this picture will prove it.
Trophy ceremony
Scottie Scheffler has learned to keep us on our fingers. He with four showed the 72nd hole to win the 2022 masters. He may have won five Sunday at the Championship PGA, but he hit him left enough in nine before about 30 minutes, We wondered ourselves If Rahm can catch it. And only when we think he is really taken to trophy ceremonies, the tip of the Wanamaker falls.
To be right, this was finally not Scheffler’s fault. The trophies are meant to rise above the winner’s head, and a two -piece trophy is a logistical nightmare for that kind of situation. And if this story feels known, it is because it is. Collin Morikawa did the same in 2020. This is not definitely a user error. I would recommend that they unite the trophy closed, but then the good could not be filled with alcohol (or ice cream!), So I think this will be just something that future Pga champions You have to be aware of moving forward.
Either way, Scheffler treated him as the sample he is. It turns out that the trophy broke down a little, however.
I also really enjoyed this Scheffler moment by taking a moment in itself before the trophy ceremony to really get it all. We will never know what it is like to be or what was going through his head at the moment, but I always want to see how much every victory for world no. 1.
“Someone else can take it”
When I think of the most beloved boys in the tournament, I usually think of Max Homa. But to be right, Scheffler’s comic time is also very good. When Scheffler learned that he was taken by taking pictures of the trophy on Sunday, he placed Wanamaker on the ground, raised his hands on his head and said, “Someone else can take it!” As he left and laughs.
A quick Google search tells me that the Wanamaker trophy weighs 27 pounds. It measures 28 inches long, 10.5 inches in diameter, and 27 inches from handle to handle. Folks, that’s not easy! In fact, it is one of the heaviest trophies in sports. The Stanley Cup weighs 34.5 pounds, but this is usually held by some boys immediately. So Scheffler, I don’t blame you that you want a break from keeping that thing up. That sounds like a workout.
More Scottie and Bennett
Something I didn’t understand until I started covering the golf tournament personally is just how many things the players have to do after a win. There is a trophy ceremony. There are pictures with everyone. There is a winning press conference, and maybe a small part of the other things I am forgetting. So that sweet moment where players greet their families is usually quite fast enough, because the new champion has a lot to do before they can go home for the night. Schefflers always stick around while Scottie does those things, though. It is common to see Scheffler and Mredith’s parents at the media center watching his press conferences, which they made Sunday in Quail Hollow. This is not a lot of norm, but it shows how narrow everyone is and how excited they are for Scottie.
So when Scheffler finished the trophy ceremony, it was time for photo with Wanamaker. Scheffler had kept his son, but it was time to take a picture with his coach. You can say Scheffler cared more than he had to leave his son for a second than to return to his trophy. And Bennett definitely did not want to be separated from his father. But the whole thing done for a sweet moment that CBs caught for all of us to see.
And with the time when Scheffler became, he headed straight to Bennett.
Another family victory
So Scottie Scheffler was technically not there for the sweet moment below, but the rest of his family was, so it is being included. While the golf world had their own eyes in world no. 1 and Wanamaker’s trophy, schefflers had their eyes on Bennett, who seemed to stand two legs for one time. Meredith, her parents and the parents of Scottie were all captured as Bennett worked in his balance.
It is safe to say it was a massive Sunday in Quail Hollow for some members of the Scheffler family. Whether you are winning a major or working to stand up, there is much to celebrate this week.
Scheffler’s golf room
And to the finals of all things Scottie Scheffler in PGA, we’ve got it talking about his golf room.
Q. You joked before Meredith would hit you on your head if you were trying to get home and bring your trophies home. That’s very big. I mean, where will you go home?
Scheffler: “Where will I go? I have a room in my house called” Golf Room “, and this is where all my shites go, literally. Just a room full of all my golf jumps. I’ve got some trophies there, and that’s probably where this will go.”
First of all, I would like to know more about this golf room. Are trophies on the shelves there, or are they just scattered on the floor? Also, just how many trophies are we talking about? Scheffler won the PGA Tour Win No. 15 Sunday, but it must be a whole more if he has trophies from his amateur days there too. I also think this answer shows how normal the rest of his life is probably. He is not lighting around his trophies as some of us would be (the way I eventually It would be) if I had that level of talent. Good for scottie. It makes me even more appreciate.
