For the 50th year this week, it will make 26.2 miles of 26.2 miles away this year
Before the initially announced, several large names have been left out, this year’s TCS London Marathon has one of the largest areas that ever gathered in the men’s and women’s race. Like in recent years, I will not see most of it, because I will fight for hours during the course, when the decision of the elite tribes was chosen.
The times when I finished the leaders, so that they could return to press conferences lasted long. This will be my 44th London and 50 years in a row I have done a marathon and I believe I can be the first Briton to get to it.
My first in 1976. A few months after leaving the school.
Between 1976 and 2017, I was able to break three hours and back, then I was the first run in the world to have a 41-year-old performance.
Unfortunately, this year’s knee injury has prevented almost any course and it will be a bigger and longer struggle than any of my previous 79 marathons. I offered 60 sub-3, and for many years there was a three-month cottage in London.

Steve Smith conducted a sub-clause in the 1999 London Marathon
Even if my knee improves, this can be my last. For many years I was quite quick to get to the front seat, then it is better for age, but this year it was a media outlet.
Returning to my first. Everything has changed much, because I have first debuted Deblow’s streets after Jan Tompson created the world’s fastest debut – 2:12:40. I broke comfortably that day three hours, although heavy walks to the last 10 km due to the insufficient training background. Still in spite of my time, I was not in the first half of the field of no more than 200 miles.
Back in 1976, all those who were marathon were a club. Few people ran to keep fit, and there were very few hairdressers and even fewer women running. Remember that in 1976 the longest event in the Women’s Olympic world was 1500 meters.
Most of the marathonists return to shoes, which were similar to the tigers’ marathon and were mostly very light plimol than ridiculously made of tall carbon shoes that would maximize this year.
There was no gels, garmins or heartbeat monitors.

It was not until 1981, when London began to train a massive British race, and the marathons became more stylish and it is possible that the normal athlete reached out, and the marathon had achieved more, and the marathon had achieved more.
For this year’s race, a total of 840,000 was used in the marathon site. For comparison, in 1981 there were 20,000 entrants, 7,000 of whom started.
That’s because there was a “elitist club running” sense of marathons when I started with a few stimuli so that I could keep the masters that I could be unique in a separate British marathonism. Runners retired earlier, and in 1976 there was definitely 67-year-old marathons.
I have also been successful over the years with injuries in my marathon, mainly remain on the grass and Parkland, which the joints behaved in good condition.
I am now the seventh most experienced runner of London terms because there are only six “ever gift”. Chris Foril, Mike Peace, Bill O’Connor, Jeff Ston, Malcolm Speake and David Walker have been operating every London since 1981, although 2020 was a virtual race.
Never start a gift for marathons unless none stupid to miss the events of 1983, as I did.
Filill, who is easily the youngest, stands out as the fastest. 66-year-old, who is a former 100 km of English, has 2:28:27 Marathon H.B.
I actually ended in the first three marathons before Failill, which we met from 1979 to 1982, then he finished in the next 22. After that, I had good magic, which ended in the next six of 2005 to 2010, but before 2018, it has been completed in all marathons.
He is still doing well, and last year Won the Steeplechase title of the British Masters.
As one of the strongest marathons in the UK myself has asked me to any class I have learned about running about half a century to 26.2 miles from the past. So it goes here …
1 Save energy in the last week. You don’t win fitness, just fatigue. So do a little run to remind you of a marathon pace but stay out of your feet when it’s practical.
2 is inappropriate how well you feel 13 miles. What usually decides how good the marathon is, is how you feel 22 miles away, so save energy more soon.
3 Gas is important. Try and stick to your race plan as long as you feel you can save it. If you suddenly feel that you are going to run much faster than your training suggests, review.
Three Don’t let the occasion get to you. There is a big difference between local streets or gardens and participates in the world’s best marathon, surrounded by competitors and watched thousands of spectators. Don’t suddenly don’t think you can turn into a better runner than the recommended course. Play safe because almost will be another marathon to try yourself. Gradually improved.
5 Drink regularly but in small quantities Thirsty and moisturizing levels and depending on the temperature, but remember that it is too much more dangerous than too little drinking.
6 Practice Eden Energy Drink in Training But note that your deliciousness is converted to a marathon change, and drinks can taste otherwise or sweeter or sugar.
7 Use GELS if you have trained them while trained. When I first started using them at the turn of the century, I mentioned unequivocally improves the last 10 km of marathons if I mixed it with a good exercise.
8 Do not rely on your smart clock. Due to high buildings and tunnels, you will not receive a completely accurate mile or kilometer readings. Many runners receive readers more than 26.5 miles than 26.2, so it is a good idea to have a list of required split and compare them when comparing them to the course.
9 Set a realistic target. Your time should be based on either of your previous marathons or last longer training or recent semi-fit. Latter let me slow down too much. For example, 1:30 half marathon offers 3:15 to 3. 30 marathon and not 3. 00. Setting your target is likely to lead to frustration and the first half is very fast and suffering on the second.
10 wanted drinks abundantly (not only alcohol). And try and recharge as soon as possible with food. The long absence in the bathroom should help reset and try and get a lot of sleeping posts, as you can be sensitive to viruses after such hard efforts. A short walk will probably provide better help from recovery than after running and riding a bicycle can also be easier.

1976-2025.
I fully expect this marathon is the worst that I have ever gave the fact that I was less than 10 km per week in 2025.
The longest race was in the Hill of February at the British National Crossroads, where my solo solutions were involved in changing my shoes and not a few times, I would be able to catch some.
I do not predict having a single problem in London, but something that is a certain knee’s continuous problem is that it will be one of my slowest marathons.
My best time to invade five-year age groups shows that early top, then keeps quite well in my 50s, before health, injuries, and age and weight.
